She was in love. The shy, reserved girl, who's only goal in life was to become invisible, had tasted the first breath of love. She had started to fantasize about him....about Samrat....
For any girl other than Gunjan Bhushan, it may have been normal to have fantasies about a man at such a vunerable age. But Gunjan was different. She chose to bury herself inside her thick books of wisdom.
But had she known that the taste of love would be so sweet, she may have fallen in it earlier.
If Gunjan was one thing, Samrat was completely another. He had fallen in, and out of love a countless number of times.
But he knew...Gunjan was something different altogether. She was neither his best friend, nor his love... Had there been a stage in between those two, he may have positioned her there. She was his companion.... his guide... his small ray of hope in the darkness...
He had never thought of himself being worthy enough of Gunjan... and perhaps that is the reason why he had never envisioned her as being something else. He knew he couldn't possibly give her the happiness that she deserved.
He also knew that he couldn't live without her. He needed her for his every step in life... he needed her to correct him when he tread on the wrong path... he needed her advice... but most of all, he just wanted her by his side....
As did Gunjan. Gunjan was at a stage in life where her every happiness lay in Samrat's hands... If Samrat was happy, she was overjoyed... if he was upset, she was devestated.... Gunjan didn't want to imagine living her life without Samrat in it... There would always be an empty void... She needed Samrat as much as he needed her....
They were each others' support....
Yes, it took a while, but even Samrat could sense himself falling for Gunjan.... For how could he not? There was some strange force, pulling them together... something that neither I, nor they can define.
But it brought them even closer...so much so that evn a moment's separation was painful...
Gunjan had never anticipated that Samrat would love her... but staying beside him all the time was hurting her... because she knew that..he could never really be hers... that they could never truly become one....
So, leaving all her possesions, she left for Morena hoping that she would be able to forget Samrat once and for all..
Both their lives had become empty...They both thirsted for love...for each others' support.... Their life had become filled with darkness.....Life held nothing of value to them any longer... For the past year, they had lived only for each otehr... and now? Now what did they have to live for?
But Samrat was not ready to be defeated. His heart knew that he needed to find Gunjan...
So he followed her... all the way to Morena....
TO BE CONTINUED...
