All-rounder performer

Love Sex Aur Dhoka actor Ashish Sharma is now playing the lead on the Imagine show, Gunahon Ka Devta. It's quite surprising since for many a Bollywood newcomer, TV is anathema — they believe that overexposure on a television show will hamper their chances on the big screen. "That's the accepted notion in our industry — that if you are appearing on TV, then the next step is films. And if you are doing films, you are not supposed to do TV," accepts Ashish, before going on to add confidently: "But I will work in both films and TV and break the mould. I am working in Gunahon Ka Devta as well as two films."

Ashish asserts, "The medium doesn't matter to me. My my tool is acting. And I may use it for theatre, TV or films. Or all."

The actor is happy that the central role of a gangster in Gunahon Ka Devta just fell into his lap after LSD. Elaborating on his character, he says, "I play Avdesh Singh Thakur, who is a golden-hearted gangster modelled on Robin Hood. He rules Lallanpur but he is not a cold-hearted murderer; he is a person who respects women."
