Liberal and narrowminded attitude of Arpi's dad

On one hand Arpita's father is so liberal in his thinking that being a Rai i.e. bhoomihar (upper cast) of Bihar he is getting his daughter married into a yadav family and on other hand he is so narrow minded that he beats his wife and is angry with his daughter because she wants to marry a guy of her choice. I really can't understand ER.Rai.😲 I think it is a blooper on part of the creatives.😛

Its not a bloopers. Mahesh Rai's character is that of the snake that he often shows himself to be by bringing out his tongue. His reason for living is luxury. For money he'll do anything. Money speaks everything to him. He will sell his kids (not just his daughter but his sons too) for money. Initially he may seem like the male chauvinist... but his vileness doesn't stop at not respecting women. He does not care for anything much other than money...even his own sons of his self respect.

The reason to marry his daughter to a family that according to you is a lower cast is simply that he sees financial gain in doing so. What can be the gain in marrying her to a family by giving them so much dowry? Probably the political hold he'll gain out of such a relationship. The power to curb the efforts of gundas like Avdesh. I am sure thats what he is looking for especially when Avdesh has threatened and taken money from him more than once.

The reason he fell down and begged to not take away his son in front of Avdesh was no because he is a father but because he couldn't see his money being spent again. He knew he'd be forced to get the son back and use his money to do so and he'd rather beg in front of his enemy than give up a penny.

So its not so much liberal mindedness that is making this guy choose puppu for Arpi. Its the sight of his own gains. he is not liberal in any sense. He is just selfish.
