It is my request to the writers to promote positive influence and women power in the serial . Not negative character's like Amma. The show is focusing on the old rural ways .Should'nt we as progressive people be encouraging weak women to stand up for themselves.
Although India has progressed in different aspects, the treatment of women in different situations have remained the same. Women like Kesar are repeatedly mistreated and abused. Instead of showing in the serial that she is breaking down because she cannot be a mother, she should be encouraged to be educated and leave the madhouse. Education is the way out from the misery.
A character like Amma should not be given so much importance and air time. The way she looks at Pratigya and Kesar and talks to them is very demeaning and insulting. She portrays the model of evil. Why is she being given so much importance ? I agree that Ashmita (amma) is a wonderful actress and just portraying her part and I honestly have nothing against her. What I am against is the qualities she is portraying. Although it is fictional, it is unbearing at times to watch. I want to see less of her or even not at all. If the writers cannot remove her atleast show some good shades in her character. She is a mother afterall ,she should have some goodness and kindness in her. I would want her to understand the pain of Kesar and accept her. I would want to see her happy for Kriya.
I with my many other friends have stopped watching Pratigya just because of Amma's abusive nature and cruelty. I know for sure the show is losing a lot of viewers because it is hard to watch so much violence and abuse. Of all the misdeeds the Thakur's trio have committed, they have gotten away with it , without been punished. This is not acceptable. There should be change .

agree with you,
they should show that kesar to have some self respect and fight for her rights, these will be encouraging step to those women who went thru these kinds of situation

what i don't understand about this show is when amma is getting beaten up by thakur all the time, she tries to get sympathy from everyone and the next moment she is the one who is abusing other ladies in the house.
i don't get that mentality

I agree with you there should be change and Kesar should be stand up for herself but it would be unrealistic to show this taking place all of the sudden, change comes gradually whether it is in a society or in a person's mentality.

Though it is unfortunate the fact remains that amma is portraying a very realistic character through her they are depicting how a women is treated even by other women when she is barren, or out of jealousy looking at it from her perspective she is simply giving her DIL's what she has received from her husband throughout her life but her bitterns forces her to take thing a bit further all of her frustration which has been bottled up inside of her seems to be coming out on her DIL's the only one's who are forced to tolerate her behavior especially Kesar who she knows does not have the courage to fight back nor a husband who supports her. I personally can't tolerate her either but her actions do not surprise me her family has proved more then once they don;t feel the pain of those they are not related to by blood.

According to me them showing a broken down Kesar is realistic a women has just learned she will never have another child, her reaction should be one of shock, and helplessness there is a process all individuals go through once this stage has passed they will also show her speaking up with the support of prats who has been encouraging her to stand up for her self and get justice.

I totally agree with you. I feel they are going too far with negative role model (Amma's charecter) to win her worst mother-in-law award.
So many of us also have stop watching this show.
There are too many things going on without any positive results.
