Well friends I am starting a story, which is a satire but written in a funny and humourous way.......this is just the beginning part. So let me know whether you want me to continue or not. The story is linked to CB and also to VT.😉
Happenings in Purohit Bhavan
The editor of Vrindavan Times is sitting in her office and looking out of her window. It is again a cold rainy day outside and she is in no mood to go out for her cup of coffee which she desperately needs. All the journalists reporting to her have also brought uninteresting and boring news regarding other people's life and that is what is irritating her even more. Suddenly there is a knock on the door and Jigyasa walks in. The editor perks up seeing Jigyasa because not only is she her best reporter but also because she was given the special assignment regarding the mystery surrounding the photograph of Mrs. Radhika Dev Raj Purohit. Jigyasa walks in and just slumps down on the chair and tells the Editor that she has one of the most surreal experiences in her life. Now the editor who was sitting completely bored wakes up from her mental slumber "Did you manage to solve the problem regarding the photograph?" Jigyasa replies that she first wants to tell the editor what actually happened with her and she continues with her story.
I managed to locate the house that looked like Purohit Bhavan in Delhi. Since there was no one around, I quietly sneaked in and was trying to walk unobserved towards the store room. Crossing the sitting room was not a problem. There are so many furnitures lying around that creeping behind them was easy. Surprisingly, even when the servants saw me crawling behind the sofas, they hardly paid any attention to me, which made me think that maybe they are used to strangers crawling into the house. Don't know whether it is the family custom or not. Anyway I managed to make my way into the courtyard and went towards the part of the house that was the store room. I slowly went to the door and was in the process of opening it when I felt a hand on my shoulder. With great trepidation I turned around to face Madhav kaka! "Madhav kaka you gave me a fright".
"I am not Madhav kaka" said the man who looked exactly like Madhav kaka, but who was now claiming that he was not Madhav kaka. "How is it possible? You are Madhav kaka. I have seen you so many times in Purohit Bahavan." I continued with a non-believing look. "Why does everyone make this mistake" sighed the man who looked like Madhav kaka "I am Raghav, his twin brother". "Twins! When did that happen!" said I with a surprised look "Both of you were not together in the Purohit Bhavan". "What do you mean when did it happen? We were born that way" Now I could see that Madhav kaka who is claiming to be Raghav kaka was getting very angry and his ears were turning purple in colour. So I kept quiet and let him continue "Areh beti, both of us got lost in Kumbh Mela in Allahabad. The boat that we were travelling in capsized right at the confluence of Yamuna and Ganga. We were about 5 year old at that time and this is how we got separated".
"Your boat capsized right at the confluence!" that is remarkable I exclaimed, "I mean I have heard of people getting lost but capsizing at the confluence, I think I have never heard of that. So were you both rescued by different families in Allahabad." Raghav kaka gave me an exasperated look and said "Why will people rescue us in Allahabad! We were rescued in Vrindavan and Haridwar, Madhav at Vrindavan and me at Haridwar". Now I was completely confused with this fact that both fell in water in Allahabad but got rescued in two different cities far away from Allahabad, but looking at Raghav kakas look, I kept quiet. "You have still not figured it out? You see Madhav floated and reached Vrindavan. There he got rescued by the Purohits. Actually Devs grandfather, who was just few years older to us found Madhav floating on a banana leaf, pulled him out of the water and brought him home. After Madhav got well, the Purohits asked him to stay with them and that's how he got adopted by them. While I floated on a palm leaf and landed in Haridwar. In the similar way, this family found me and took me home. Later on I also decided to live with this family." Hearing this description I looked at Raghav kaka and said "Kaka, how can you float upstream, one floats downstream! Banana and palm trees growing in Allahabad!" By this time my head was in my hands and I was silently cursing the editor for sending me in this trip.
I looked at Raghav kaka "Do you mean that we are in Haridwar now?! But this house in Purohit Bhavan! As far as I know Purohit Bhavan is in Delhi, and I entered this house in Delhi, so how come we are in Haridwar? " Raghav kaka gave a big sigh and said "Although you entered the house in Delhi, it does not mean that the house will remain in Delhi. Tomorrow the house might even move to Rishikesh." I couldn't keep quiet anymore and said" Raghav kaka. How is a house supposed to move on its own?" "Why not!" said Raghav kaka "If a car can move, a bus can move why not a house? Don't houses move in your part of the world? " I looked at Raghav kaka and said "No kaka in our world houses don't move" Raghav kaka exclaimed "That's strange. In our world houses also move. How on earth is one supposed to go to different parts of the world with all the belongings? " I was lost with this statement and managed to squeak out "Well kaka, if we have to go somewhere else, we pack our stuff in boxes or suitcases and then go." "That's definitely a strange custom!" exclaimed Raghav kaka. "How on earth is one supposed to know what that person will need when they are visiting some other place. One never knows what one might require! Isn't it better that he has everything with him. I must say that you people follow some strange logic. Look at us, when we want to go somewhere and provided that the position of moon is ok, the house also comes with us."
Now I could not keep quiet and asked him "Kaka, even if I accept that this house is in Haridwar, why will it move to Hrishikesh, why can't it move to Delhi or Agra or Mumbai". Kaka sat down next to me and put his hand on my shoulder and said "Beti, even if the house moves, it has to follow certain rules and regulations in this movement. See when the house was with the Purohits, it was in Delhi because the Purohits used to move from Vrindavan and Delhi''..and what is common between the two cities, Yamunaji. So when this house moves, since it is already in Hadridwar it has to move to a city or town which is on the banks of Gangagmaia, and that's why Rishikesh." I looked at Raghav kaka and asked him " Kaka but then why can't it move to Varanasi, Allahabad or Kolkata, why Rishikesh?" Raghav kaka gave me an exasperated look and said "Why else but again the same reason why Madhav could float upstream to Vrindavan and I could float to Haridwar. Why do you think both of us did not float down to Patna? It is all to do with the moon. The moon decides whether we float upstream or downstream and also whether the house moves north or south."
to be continued.......
