no i did not try the recipe, my cooking is known to burn down kitchens, i am not kidding, i once lit the curtains on fire, luckily no one was hurt.Seriously? try this recipe, no cooking only mixing then place overnight in refrigerator. coming to your question, i think all these love stories do raise our expectations or our standards about the kind of love story we would want for ourself. i guess when we meet the one, we would know, then it will not matter if he is not darcy or mayank or daoming si, because we would know he is the one.Very true, sometimes TV lowers standards. Look at the 'propaganda' films have done for 'playboys' and nakhrewali. People in search of high maintenance and suspense of 'drama'. However, for those who do not 'know' any better, tv and films open up new avenues of inspiration. Look at what Mayank has done for mummy's boys. However about 'knowing' when he turns up, that is the part where many fail, why many miss their mayanks, for destiny is kind and grants many of our wishes, it is us who fail to prepare, or recognize and then fall into despair, pointing fingers at destiny when we really should be kicking ourselves. Teju trust me, run towards your success by preparing for it now. Anticipate it around every corner for when it comes, you will want to delay the anticipation longer. Trust me upon this, you will only understand once you have experienced it!

qualities i like in mayank
he is smart, sensible, responsible, grounded & marches to his own rhythm & he has a real cool swagger
errr scratch that, mayank NOT arjun, i forgot. he has a sarcastic sense of humour, my favorite kind.
i love the fact that fact that the only people who can get to him are his mom & nupur.
i love the complexity of his character, he is shown to be cold, aloof, distant, practical etc. but his emotions run more deep than anyone else. he is fiercely protective, possessive & loyal about his loved ones.
i love coz he has flaws *muaaaah* his gigantic ego, insolence, self-righteousness, him being rigid, a huge control freak, volatile temper, it makes him so much more fun.
you know, mayank is self-destructive in a way, he is so capable of pushing everyone away & building a cocoon around himself.
i like the fact that he is not perfect & is capable of doing crazy things like burning nupur's mayapari for example.

albus dumbledore- i read the whole HP series for him, all 7 parts. him & snape were two characters who caught my attention, i always thought snape will turn into anti-hero who will save the day & it happened, but dumbledore caught me by surprise. he is mysterious yet simple, dark but noble, human yet hero all the same. he has so many layers, one of the best i read in recent times
howard roark: i am not a big fan of fountainhead really, i thought the book lost its plot mid-way and became too philosophical preaching things, but roark made his mark

temperance brennan: from bones, she is a single piece quite literally. i never saw any character who is as weird & adorable at the same time. i especially love how she gets clueless about human behaviour.
