i just realised something....correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't rajnikanth old enough to be aishwarya rai's father....i mean he's like 61 and she's 37....and yet they paired in the upcoming robot movie????

AB snr went a bit too far when he was paired opposite someone who was old enough to be his grand daughter (jiah khan)

Everyone thinks this is silly, this isnt a groundbreaking revelation and has been disscussed a billion times on Endhiran/Robot threads. Rajni is fairly old, and Aish is half his age, but his star power, fan following and the success rate of all the heroines that star opposite to him though makes it completley believable why aish would sign for his movie, which is also a Shankar film.

Rajni may be 61, but this 61 year old man will give Ash the biggest hit of her life. His star power far exceeds hers. The number of hits he has and the box office collections of those movies is much higher than Amitabh Bachan too. So it is Ash who should be grateful that she is working with Rajni.

I know that Rajnikanth is a superstar, but he is a lot older than Ash. If he could give Ash the biggest hit of her life, couldn't he do it by playing her father instead of her lover? No offense, but I never liked the older actor/younger actress pairing. I like it better when people stick to their own generation.

Its not even about the age. AB Sr and Tabu looked completely normal to me in cheeni kum. Lets face it and stop ignoring the huge elephant in the room. Aishwarya is a classic beauty and keeping all the beauty-eye-beholder nonsense aside, Rajnikant isn't exactly pleasant to look at. And with all that crazy makeup and OTT clothing/styling, he looks ten times worse. So its very awkward to watch.

If Rajnikant was seen romancing an ordinary looking girl whatever the age maybe, it would seem normal. But this is just really weird.

P:S now people can get ready to call me shallow. 😆

well if ash agreed to act in the movie knowng all this then who are we to criticize rajini. He didnt force her to act in the movie. Ash herself said that she wanted to do it for rajini and shankar ...period.

And when will our indian audiences get out of this whole "looks" thing...

Maybe rajini isnt pleasanrt looking for you...for many people like me...I dont find anything wrong with his looks infact he looks fine to me....

maybe coz his genuineity and sincerity comes forward rather than the fakeness that many stars dish out.
