Any idea how are the TRPs of II-2 vs the II-1, FG or SRGMP?

Yes SRGMP picked up in the final stages.

Also, how are the total votes compared to II-1 and FG at this stage of the shows?

Is II-2 more popular? Has last weeks dramabazi helped the show?

Or does II-2 lack a **STAR** contestant who can pull in the crowds?

Anyone has ideas, how it is doing?

Here's my take:

FG worked cause of the Gurukul drama and Qazi's immense popularity

II1 worked cause it was something new for TV viewers

SRGMP worked cause it introduced 'great' concepts like mentor arguments, walkouts and audience interaction (plus it had some of the best singers, many of whom made it to the top 5)

II2 hasn't worked cause it doesn't offer anything new. Also, someone mentioned this earlier- many of contestants are fairly down-to-earth, their prime focus was singing/performance, they never came across as 'starry' or flamboyant when compared to FG. II2 doesn't have the distinct personalities that FG offered- the funny people you can sympathize with, the bad people you just hate etc, the same characteristics that make saas-bahu shows click. Instead of being different, II2 is just copying whatever happened in SRGMP (disagreements, walkouts) and that's why the TRPs have been hovering around 2.5-2.7 for the past month or so. Most of the favorites have been eliminated which doesn't make things look any better for the future. But maybe the gamble will pay off in the upcoming weeks...

I think the drama of the past weeks esp last week may help bring in new viewers. I guess people who were never interested in musical or reality shows will tune in just to see what the hype is about it.

agree with sonyaee.

I personally feel somewhere the magic is missing despite with all the hype and drama.

I have not watched II-1 (also watched SRMP only in the later stages and FG I watched on the NET) so cant compare, hence my above question and curiosity.

In the final stages it may pick up viewership and become interesting.

sonayee ji is absolutely right.. just another addition..

SRGMP worked because of previous reputation.. it was the first musical show on TV.. people knew that this show had the potential to produce some of the best singers like it did it in the past.. and i think SRGMP was very clear in its approach..yes till the audienc eround there were some shocks.. but the top 5 were probably the most deserving from the beginning of the show..so atleast till tat stage, there were no shocks.. after tat..jo hona tha.. it had to happen..

II 1 was also similar.. till RR got voted out, there were a lot of good singers gettin voted out..but after him Prajakta, Rahul, Amit and Abhijit were superb.. and the whole audience voting for the first time made a difference..

I dont think FG was as popular as II 1 or SRGMP.. i didnt like the quality of singing on FG.. it was gud..but SRGMP had much better quality.. i really liked the Academy mein 24 ghante part of FG..

Interesting discussion..

Also, perhaps we can dig out some figures to prove the above? The TRPs around that time for both II1 and FG?

About SRGMP, I read that this program catapulted Zee to No 2 slot..
