Star One's Geet Hui Sabse Parayi is its most successful show of late and its viewers were excited to see what happens at one of the story's most crucial junctures. How does Maan Singh Khurana, Geet's fiance-cum-boss react to the biggest truth of Geet's life, her pregnancy? They were even more excited to see Maan conquering his own ego and embracing Geet regardless of her past. And most excited about the upcoming "Roop Tera Mastana" sequence where Maaneet finally symbolically marry the Parineeta way (physical acceptance each other and their marital status before official societal blessing).
The same fans, however, are now disappointed to learn that the channel may have edited out some of the sequences of Maan's realization and acceptance of Geet's truth. They are further irate that the Channel is contemplating editing the original "Roop Tera Mastana" sequence due to pressure from some activists.
Viewers assert the reason the show is a success is the Geet team's vision, the rich romantic tale, and the spectacular characterizations of Geet and her swarthy, sarcastic saviour, Maan Singh Khurana (by Drashti Dhami and Gurmeet Choudhary). The unnecessary editing by the channel annihilates the flow and continuity, destroys character consistency, and short-changes the story.
The fans trust that going forward the channel will stop editing and let the story speak for itself. TRPs will surely follow like it has consistently thus far. They further hope the channel does not compromise the "Roop Tere Mastana" sequence to please any political or social groups. Such groups clearly do not grasp the empowering love story of a young woman deceived by her false husband and abandoned by her family. Lastly, the fans ponder where these groups were when Geet's innocence was stolen by a deceitful fake, and shouldn't these groups be taking care of women who actually need asistance in their "real" life?
We at Telly Tadka grasp the distress of Geet viewers and hope the channel listens to their wisdom. To learn more about the fans' efforts check out their post on Geet's Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=109723285713002&topic=957
