Todays headlines -

Cabinet bows to MPs' demand, hikes allowances .Bowing to persistent pressure from dissatisfied MPs, the union cabinet Monday decided to hike the allowances of parliamentarians by Rs.10,000 per month, but left their three-fold salary hike unaltered. The allowance hike comprises a raise of Rs.5,000 each in their constituency and office expense allowances. They will also be entitled to Rs 1000 daily allowance dring parliamentary session
The bill seeking amendments to the Salaries and Allowances of Members of Parliament Act, 1954, will now be tabled in parliament - most likely Wednesday to be passed by both houses before the hike is actually implemented. The increase will be given with retrospective effect since the beginning of the current Lok Sabha, the 15th, which means MPs will get arrears from May 2009.

This is when many govt employees are yet to receive full arrears of the 6th pay commission !

"FASTEST PAY COMMISION EVER" !!!!!!!!! Rs.1000/- per day of each day in session where they do not attend. Parliament is empty most of the time while in session except in certain sessions Lakhs of rupees for phones and electricity....Free Conveyence......free Work............???????? 😕
A jawan in a tent outside parliament guarding them gets nothing for attending work daily!!!!!!!!!!!!!😲 A jawan guarding the frontiers of the country at harsh climates gets 2000-3000 / month as allowance Jai Jawan and Jai Kisan. ?????????......................Jai HO MP's kisan toiling in the field gets paltry sums offered by the govt as price for the produce....NO DAILY allowances 😔

Monetory increase in salary and benefits is justified for M.P's. We, as general public can not decide how much?. Who the hell are we to decide?. We can only suggest that:
1. The minimum educational qualification for an M.P. should be a graduate from recognised unniversity. We don't want illeterates to represent us. So, don't give them tickets.
2. There should be a minimum number of compulsory attendence in the parliament morning+evening=.
3. Behaviour in the parliament. If an M.P misbehaves in the parliament, his/her allawances should be cancelled as we have this system in the sports.(match fee) .
4. Once convicted, an elected politician in any capacity should never be allowed to re-enter politics.
5. There should be time limits for the settlement of politician's court cases. Do not drag it for ages. 😳

Suppose all those people who hate corruption showed up to vote. Honest people will see that as an encouragement to participate in the elections. Once elected the honest people can logically refrain from corruption and still make their households run
But if those people who supposedly crow about corruption dont show up for voting, the people contesting elections will have to bribe someone to vote for them, to recupurate the cost they will have to indulge in corruption
I say Govt is doing all it can, but if the lazy bums just want to crow about corruption then all of it is a waste
Dear reader
Did you vote in the last election in India? Are you a lazy bum who just likes to whine away?

I did vote for the one I thought to be the least corrupt but I guess he was far outnumbered by the more corrupt stalwarts to make much difference. 😆 Hopefully honest candidates win in greater nos next time. Umeed per duniya kayam hai 😛

Does it even make sense to fix your own salary 😕 Shouldnt there be a pay commission or a committee to look into the matter and fix it ?
