My contract with Sony got over after Dus Ka Dum 2 and now I am doing this show. I liked the connect with the audience in 10 Ka Dum and if they want me I am ready to do it again.
Bigg Boss and Kaun Banega Crorepati 4 are both prime-time shows on different channels. Are you a bit wary of the clash?
Amitabh Bachchan is a very senior and respected actor and I'm much younger. We are two different personalities with different styles on two different shows. Each will have its own viewership.
Were you apprehensive of taking up a show like Bigg Boss?
Frankly, the idea of watching a show that dwelled on the personal life of celebs didn't appeal to me when I saw the first season. It gave me a jhatka. But when the second season came on air my mother and my sisters Alvira and Arpita coaxed me to watch it. When I started watching it I sort of got hooked to it. And the fact that it has such high TRPs shows that people are watching it, and want to watch it. And basically I want to connect with the viewers.
What was it about the script that appealed to you?
There will be no script. It will be a spontaneous act, because even if there were a script I'd forget the contents. And I'll try to be different from former hosts like Shilpa Shetty and Amitabh Bachchan.
I never ever speak about my personal life, so I can't imagine being locked up in the house. Because however much you may try to put up an act, after 10-15 days your real self surfaces and all your secrets come out.
Is there anyone in particular you'd like to see inside the house?
No, I don't know anyone I'd like to see in the house. And even if I did I wouldn't name them.
Who is the big boss in your life?
My Dad!
Your tag line for 10 Ka Dum was 'Break to banta hai boss. What about Bigg Boss?
Simple! Break to banta hai na Bigg Boss!
