I got quite pissed after I watched last night show with Uditji.

I know the ethical standards in public space (think politicians, bureuacrats etc.) in india are low but on national television in a popular show? Unacceptable!

Salim crossed the line earlier once, when he voted for Rakesh using his mobile phone during the show. For heavens sake, Salim is a Freaking Judge! How can he vote for anybody? He should have stepped down before doing that. I did not complain becos he has otherwise been a reasonable judge providing what looked like sensible comments in general.

Y'day the show totally went haywire. What the FRAK was going on? First they make poor Bhoomi and Shreeram raise the issue that was obvious to everybody about Rakesh, that he is monochromatic, one dimensional, limited (this is Sony's fault to design what is a public opinion based Music show into a Suvivor format, OBSCENE. They stooped very low).

And then Salim says, Rakesh did sing other type of songs (did not really specify what) and said the judges are all satisfied and Rakesh doesn't have to prove anything. To who? To the Freaking Judges who stopped being Judges sometime ago and have become mouthpieces with their own little agenda? If that is the case, why the hell did Sunidhi raise the issue of versatility against Naushad ?Does she honestly believe Rakesh is versatile as Salim claims? (Gimme a break, this lady maybe a musical genius but she lost my respect since she started needlessly complaining about Sreeram and overtly promoting her favorites - that is not called Judging but Pimping)

And the limit!! Salim wishes to give 2000 to 3000 votes to Rakesh. @ Rs.3 per SMS that is Rs 6 to 9K. Well may be, he already did. Or maybe he is betting on Rakesh and he is going to get a cut from Rakesh's earnigs? Who knows?! The point is how the hell can I trust a Judge if he talks such rubbish. He wants to buy votes for his candidate. He already did it on the show, that was one vote, then. Now he wants to do it in bulk. Unbelievable!!!

I don't get this show? Why are they promoting Rakesh or any of the contestants. They should just shut the Frak up and let India decide who they want to choose. That is the charm of this show, the Voice of India!! I can understand that they were guiding the public opinion in the earlier rounds. They should have stopped that promotion pretty much since the Round of 5. What do they care if Rakesh wins or Bhoomi Wins or Sreeram wins. I don't. I am a big Sreeram Fan but this Freak show is not the end of this world. He proved himself over and again a million times and as he stated he is following excellence and I am certain Success will follow him.

I was so impressed with Salim (maybe conned by his good looks and gentlemanly behaviour) and what looked like sensible comments. But without Character, he is just nothing but another Freaking Broker.

It is not that they did not support Sreeram or some other favorite of mine. As judges they should not support anybody. Be Impartial. That is the fundamental essence of judging and they stoop to new lows everyday.

So Disillusioned, it hurts to see decent people behave this way!

The excessive Rakesh hype is really getting on my last nerve! Even Bhoomi has been given more limelight with extra performances (first with Aamir, than her rapping, and then her performance with Shaan today!). Rakesh is definitely being given more air time than anyone of the other contestants on the show.

Having said that, I wouldn't blame Salim, Sunidhi, or even to an extent Rakesh himself. It is the productions doing. They want Rakesh to win, not because he is the most talented of the lot, but because he has that feel-good, dreams-do-come-true, and the common man aura about him (or at least they think he does). Problem is production likes to prove that what they are doing is for a good cause. They are taking the common man and polishing his talent and presenting it to the world - the winner of the show should therefore reflect their nobility.

To be very honest, Sreeram doesn't have that "bechara" feel about him, the way Rakesh does. Believe it or not, sob stories do matter and people definitely enjoy hearing those. Talent is not enough to win a platform like Idol. You have to bring more than that on the stage.

Don't get me wrong, Rakesh is a nice singer, but personally, I feel that Rakesh will be lost in the crowd. He'll be another forgetful Idol. Even if Sreeram loses, I have this gut feeling that he'll make it big. But even if Rakesh wins, I think, at most, he'll be hosting the audition rounds of next season's idol. Bitter reality that Rakesh fans will be annoyed at, but just calling it the way I see it.

It is unethical that they are giving more airtime to some participants and not to others. This unethical behaviour of both the judges and the TV channels what pains me.

I don't buy the rags to riches story that they want to promote. Makes no sense, this is a music competition not Bechara Competition. If that is the case, why the hell did they kick-out swaroop. His is the real story of this idol! How much better it would have been if he had won this competition.

I just think that this has become a Freak Show and they are stooping very low to get those TRPs. The only one who benefits if Rakesh gets more votes is the channel. They get the money. Either way the prize money is a sunk cost for them, they have to give it to one of the 3. They keep talking up Rakesh and Bhoomi to get those extra votes. I won't mind if the stupid SMS costs nothing, free. The the whole of india and all the fans can keep smsing till their fingers drop dead and the telecom networks collapse under the load.

This show has just become Rubbish! Also shows the dirty face of Corporate India!

Yes they are unethical as they eliminated Tia and Swaroop with bad comments. Alos Sreeram is good. Rakesh and Bhoomi are here due to partial judges. I do hate Bhoomi nautanki.

Tia, Swaroop and Meghna should be top 3, or maybe Shashi and Manisha.

I agree completely with Woh Ajnabee. Seriously, the channel should stop meddling with what they think will get the public's attention and actually pay attention to what gets the public's attention.(Yes, you have to pay attention to understand what I am saying😆).

This time Indian Idol is a big hit because the final round has a fantastic singer like Sreeram and at least another finalist that can sing decently. THAT is what captures people's imagination. Some stupid marketing think-tank on the show is considering itself very clever by promoting the Rakesh story. Most people I know are completely annoyed by the whole drama.

Still, I would have been furious if someone like Sreeram had been eliminated early because of this overhype of Rakesh. As it stands now I think he has had ample opportunities to showcase his talent which he did with a bang. Now the winner is immaterial as always.

With no dog in this fight, I find the OP very amusing. The extreme paranoia has thrown the OP over the point of return. The rant is so comic that if even OP would have read before posting, s/he would have edited it (or is it edited?).

The hollo of OP is for crying contestants. What an idea! Let's all cry together because some contestants cry a lot.

Also, it would be worthwile to remind OP that everything is completely ethical in this competition. This competition is about Indian Idol (breaking news), not India's best singer. People like every contestant for different reasons. Even your fascination towards your favorite contestant seems a bit creepy due to reasons that are non-musical.

I don't have time to read that whole thing, but in response to ur first few lines...

RAKESH deserves all of that from Salim. And in II5, judges play NO significant role. They don't have to rate performances, train singers, nothing. So their being biased towards one is acceptable.

And yes, to some, Rakesh's drama part and all is a turn-off, but please also pay attention to his voice. Afterall, its not Bigg Boss but a Singing show so please vote according to the "singing" part only.

And BTW, Im a Sreeram fan 😳

I agree with 2cents and Ajnu both...

Ajnu judges are paid by the channel to judge...Professionally unless they are puppets...Than pls dont call them judges...They should not be giving their personal opinions but should be criticing with professional opinions...I guess they all are saving their butts as channel is paying them to keep their jobs...Money talks and BS walks 😡🤢👎🏼

I am alos turned off by Sunidhi for long and at times by Salim for giving some preferencial treatment to Rockesh and Shivam both...Yes Bhoomi has gotten more airtime too compared to Sreeram who has received the least faltoo air time...Thank god his singing does the job where he does not need other dramas..

Channels needs to go back on being lil more honest, professional and dont display these rags to riches type stories...

Rockesh story is a mini version of Maa ka sapna with Debojit of C-05 all over again...A huge turn off for MOI...

I really dont care who wins although rooting for Sreeram ⭐️...But this is really a turn off to Indian reality show for MOI...
