The extent of defensiveness is amazing. I am still confused by the OP. Is the point that that Rakesh gets more airtime, limelight? Well, to beginwith, this is just OP's opinion. This can be validated only if OP presents some concrete data upto each second for all 3 contestants. Also, this behavior has to be consistent and not based on just one episode. Judges did save Rakesh once by veto. One can agree/disagree, but again, this is what it is.. crying about Rakesh's crying or crying about judges' comments is not going change a thing.

that's called bashing..he could've simply said he doesn't like that singer or w/e
he doesn't have to stoop so low to prove his point
if OP is entitled to his opinion, then i m entitled to my opinion too
if the forum is for discussion, i know that..that's why i m discussing here
do u not see how vulgar wording ppl use to make topics herer jus to make their favourite one win ?
i mean seriously u can't be that blindfolded

There is something called a REPORT button, learn to use it! Just because others are resorting to name calling doesn't mean you should too .... otherwise, what is the difference? You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but about the show and the contestants on the show. Not members on the forum. There's a difference.

If you disagree that judges are not being partial, you should respond in reference to that particular point, not point out how "biased" a member is! So you think, judges are impartial - may I ask whether or not you noticed how many times Rakesh was in the limelight this week as opposed to the other two?

@2Cents you watch BattleStar Galactica by any chance? 😛

Stick to it. Aliens on earth is more logical than reasoning with reality shows and their outcomes.

The only guy who is going to make it big after II5 is Mr Swaroop Khan. Why will movie producers with multi crore budgets risk banking on anyone else than the Sonu Nigams and Udit Narayans !!

Shreeram is a good singer but I don't feel like listening to his songs over and over again because his voice texture and quality is very ordinary. Rakesh on the other hand has a very melodious voice - he may not be versatile but then neither is Himesh !!

I don't want a versatile singer - I want to listen to a singer who makes me want to hear him again and again.

Is Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan versatile ? Is Kumar Sanu versatile ?

This whole humbug about versatility is nonsense.

And Yes - SONY has no class as a channel - they stoop low for TRPs - they want to play to the emotional gallery any which way they can. AKA Rakesh Maini and his Mummy and Pappa - this is a hook line and sinker to all the family viewers. It may be good in a way because it portrays family values - but they have overdone it - its over cooked now and tasteless.

And Yes Judges should not be allowed to vote and Judges should not be allowed to hire contestants to record for them commercially either.

SONY has no class and no ethics. In this hyper competitive world of TRPs - anything goes - anything !

i disagree with you only to the extent that i think Sreeram will make it big also. This is not just about versatility, but about perfection and the technical aspects which sreeram excels in. i do not see any contestant in Indian idol 5 who is close to him in training except perhaps Shashi and Meghna who were eliminated pretty soon. The way sreeram has executed each song with minimum flaws is resonant of a professional singer. His range, versatility and ability to move seamlessly with each song is mind blowing.
I agree with you completely about Swaroop Khan making it big. He was a favorite of mine on this show. i do hope he does really well in life, thanks to his talent and potential. The earthly texture in his voice is amazing, and he will have a promising career as he is really different.

Agree about Swaroop Khan.

Personally disagree about Sreeram. Go to youtube and view the comments of people for Sreeram's videos. Repeat listening is happening a lot. His voice when singing live sounded better than Shaan's. And Sonu Nigam and Udit themselves are not getting many songs these days in the industry😆. Rakesh has a very melodious voice but what people fail to realize during live singing in reality shows is that during these performance no one pays attention to creativity of the singer, ability to cast a new song into his own voice, singing with refinement etc. Rakesh has none of these qualities.

When one of the earlier show contestants was asked about why reality show singers didn't succeed in the industry, he said that it was one thing to sing songs sung by others on a stage and another thing altogether to sing a song for the first time on your own. That requires a lot of creative input from the singer which most of these contestants lack. That is where Sreeram and Swaroop(in his genre) stand out.
