i posted this on facebook so i thought i post it here aswell....

ok there is gud news and bad news.... the gud news is that the most common type of Malaria in asia is called Plasmodium vivax which produces less severe symptoms than the type of Malaria u find in africa the bad news is that any type of Malaria is SERIOUS! dats y da producers need to take this in consideration, cuz gurmeet health comes before anything... however this wat happens wen u have malaria

When the parasite enters your blood through a bite, it travels straight to your liver. It develops there and then re-enters your bloodstream and invades your red blood cells. Once in the red blood cells, the parasites grow and multiply. Eventually, the infected red blood cells burst and release even more parasites into your blood.
The infected cells usually burst every 48-72 hours. Each time this happens, you will experience an attack of chills, fever and sweating.

and symptoms.....

Symptoms of malaria usually appear 10-15 days after you are bitten. However, depending on the type of parasite you are infected with, it can take a year for symptoms to show.
Symptoms of malaria are similar to flu symptoms and include:
a high temperature (fever) of 38C (100.4F) or above
sweats and chills
generally feeling unwell
muscle pains
headaches
cough
diarrhoea
With some types of malaria, fevers occur in 48-hour cycles. You feel cold at first with shivering that lasts up to an hour. You then develop a fever that lasts for two to six hours, followed by extreme sweating.

but sometimes get get worse....

like anaemia this is where the red blood cells are unable to carry enough oxygen, which leaves you feeling drowsy, weak and faint and it culd be server...

other complications....

.... severe case of malaria can include:
breathing problems (such as fluid in your lungs)
liver failure and jaundice (a yellow discolouration of the skin)
shock (sudden drop in blood flow)
spontaneous bleeding
abnormally low blood sugar
kidney failure
swelling and rupturing of the spleen
dehydration

derfore it is vital dat gurmeet stays off da show 4 a while untill he recovers fully so he can be in da show properly however i think shud be ok within a few days- if he stays off da show and do wat da doctor instructed him to do,ie: stay in bed! and probly da medication and in my opinion i think he shud take the week off....... cuz im sure dat we all want our gurmeet to shoot da scene wen hes well.... SO IF U LOVE HIM U WULD SAY DIS ASWELL FOR HIS HEALTH.... but im sure he will be fine in a couple days...well our gurmeet is also very strong!

ps: the information is from the NHS website! and i know so much about malaria i dont no where to start so i found an over view on nhs! much more easier to understand

😊

EDITED...

i think its unlikely that guru has been infected with falciparum beacuse Falciparum malaria is the most serious type of malaria and can develop very quickly into a severe, life-threatening illness.
Symptoms can develop as quickly as eight days after you are bitten. Without treatment, you rapidly develop complications, such as breathing problems, fits, liver failure and shock so guru would not have been able to get out of bed beacuse he would be seriously ill, therefore if he actually managed to do the scene on monday, it shows that he has been infected with the common malaria found in asia , with common flu symptoms, but yes, if its not treated properly it could turn nasty...

In some rare cases of malaria, the infected red blood cells can block the small blood vessels leading to the brain, stopping blood flow and leading to a shortage of oxygen. This is known as cerebral malaria and this can cause your brain to swell and, in some cases, may lead to permanent brain damage. It can also cause you to have a seizure or fall into a coma.

yes so people are right, malaria could be fatal, however i really thing its less likely that gurmeet has been infected by falciparum, and yes, there is this type of malaria in asia, but its rare and not so common beacuse that type of misquoto that causes falciparaum its rare in asia.....

Agree with you. Let them carry the show with flashback scenes of Maan till Guru gets well. Malaria should not be taken lightly, especially the strains in Mumbai are deadly. Many lost their lives last year. By the way in Mumbai, you not only have malaria caused by vivax but also by falciparum and in some cases both.Malaria caused by falciparum comes with very high fever and can even attack the brain.
I hope Guru's malaria is of the lesser intensity.
It is high time the city does something about civic hygiene. Every year it is the same problem and the people are affected by newer and more virulent strains.

As much as we will miss Maan, I agree with you that Gurmeet's health comes first... so I hope he gets some time off.... the show can continue with Drashti..... they can show NT and Dev busy looking for Geet and loads of hit and miss scenes... they can stall the track for a couple of epis for Guru.... his health is most important to all of us..... Wish you a speedy recovery Guru.... feeling sad for you

I agree! Serials are good at dragging things normally, so when fans are begging the CVs to drag their show without Maan now, they should take advantage of it and give the limelight to Dev, Naintara, and Geet until Guru recovers! It is SO important that he receives his rest until he recovers completely, that shooting for even one hour should be a complete NO. I hope Debina puts her foot down and forces Guru to bedrest until he is alright!

CVs, for us, the most important thing to us is Gurmeet's health rather than Maan. So, please just give him the rest that he needs. Even in today's episode I could literally feel how weak he was and I can just imagine how much trouble he had to go through to do the shooting. Please, please, please just let him rest and only allow him back onto the sets when he is FULLY recovered. That's all we ask. We're not so selfish that we will put him to harm just for our pleasure.

Hope you get well soon Gurmeet!

Awww...I am so happy to see so many fans feel the same way I do! 👏

If the CVs read this, then please it is our request that you guys let Gurmeet rest and recover completely. We can do without Maan...at least until Guru is well again. 😳

Wishing him a speedy recovery! Our prayers are with you Gurmeet!
