The costumes and makeup are tacky and OTT . But , IMO Aishwarya pulls of the look pretty well . Frankly , I do not think anyone else in B wood could have looked even half decent in these tacky costumes and loud makeup !

I am not a Rajni fan but this guy has an unbelievable fan following down South . (Do not let his Hindi films fool you.) His movies are rarely less than superhit / blockbuster status. Explains why Ash signed the film .She got a large fee for the film and a probable 'blockbuster' under her belt !

Aish signed the film because the director of Endhiran, Shankar, was the same guy who did 'Jeans' in 1998, a film that was hugely responsible for her rise to fame in the South and then the transfer to bollywood. Also, Shankar in general is a pretty big director with almost every film he's done being a huge blockbuster, he's rarely ever turned down by anyone he approaches, and it would be very stupid of Aish to logically turn down a Shankar film. Also, the last move she did in the South apart from Raavanan was Kandukondain Kandukondain, so i'm guessing she's trying to shake things up down there again.

I do agree that Rajni should quit the hero act and take up some age appropriate roles, but again, Aish has not starred opposite to him and almost any heroine who has starred opposite Rajnikanth becomes an overnight success. Evidently Aishwarya doesnt need any help with becoming a sucess or gaining more fame, but having a 'Rajni film' in her filmography will definitley be seen as a good thing to her South fanbase.

Annnyyyywaaayyy, i totaly hope this film doesnt suck. I completley agree that it looks a bit over-done and cheap in terms of the costume. which is so stupid considering that it has a higher budget than Any Indian cinema ever made. Comeon Shankar, make your heroine look less like a fool.
