one of the most emotionally stirring episodes in recent past ...it was just heart rending to watch ...oh ! dear I just wish I had not watched the last 10 mins ...there is a lump in my throat ......Oh ! Krishna .....
*Clears my throat * ...All the Thakurs are sitting in silence and gloom [ The Election is all but over for them] ....each and everyone are keyed up...and Kesar is grinding the wheat into tiny particles ...all eyes are at the door ....
Enter the professor and his Daughter ....and unbelievably the prof starts on his release with honor [this guy really knows how to rub salt in the wounds] and SS is gnashing his teeth, Shakthi is looking Murderous ..and Kesar looks on terrified , piyasiaya being Piyasiya is taking a malicious pleasure ....and her big eyes are darting here and there drinking in the scene ....
Prof mentions something about leaving Pratigya here ...and SS gets wild ...he starts on Pratigya [and having got their cue, the predators circle in for the kill]..he asks Pratigya how dare she show up here after blackening their name in whole Allahabad ? was Angad the only recipient of her favors or were there many other Angadwas...did she start this activities in school itself..Prof tries to intervene but Ss shuts him with well aimed barbs that questions his sanskaars, his honesty and finishes it with saying we TRUSTED you...and this is how you are ?
he passes the baton to Amma [and in nick of time too...amma was all but prancing in impatience and would have chewed thru her bit if she was denied for a sec] ...Amma starts her tirade among which her innate jealousy towards Pratigya's fairness seeps thru...when Prof once again says please listen and then do whatever you want...Amma says "Do u think I don't have any brain , do u think I have lost my marbles ....?? ..she says "I did wonder why u agreed to get ur educated daughter married to my uneducated Son [ Hey ! Lady He does not have Bookish education, but life's education he has aplenty !] ...Now I know...U just wanted to push off this dal, cos none were coming to take her off ur hands " ...Pratigya tries to defend herself but Amma just marches so menacingly towards Pratigya that the words dries up in Pratigya's Mouth and she is reduced to silence again ....goaded Amma then goes and gets the coal powder and tells her "It is this fair colored face isn't it that is fooling everbody into thinking that your heart too is fair...well no your heart is black and ur face will reflect that" ...saying this ,she viciously tries to apply it on Pratigya's face , but Pratigya holds her hands [not in a arrogant way,but in a non challenging way ]...incensed Amma calls Piyasiya and tells her to hold Pratigya and looking at his daughter's Prof..The prof tries to do the gallant Knight act ...but Shakthi acts as Bulwark and refuses Prof the liberty of movement ..The prof can watch helplessly and as his wont ...begins to cry !!
Piyasiya Hold Pratigya tightly but Pratigya turns off her face at the last moment ....but Amma will not be denied today...she wants her pound of flesh and she means to get it at any cost ..she holds Pratigya's face and applies the coal powder ...Shakthi wants to join in ..he asks for the coal powder [at the rate they are going Allabad is going to be bereft of coal powder] ..and he applies it on Prof ...Ghanti Dadi is crying bitterly and Kesar is giving her company [ Alright it is a duet...with G.Dadi as the clear winner !!] ...SS had enough ....he orders Shakthi to throw them out before he loses his decency [He has decency ...đ˛] *Pick My Magnifying Glass and go in search of SS's Decency * .....Shakthi grabs Pratigya and pushes her out and Pratigya trips and falls ..........into the arms of KRISHNA !!
In Mumford ganj...everybody are wondering why Prof has not returned yet ...and Nainaji consoles every body saying...he probably met with some friends and is chatting with them ..she tells Aarushi to call up Prof on his mobile..Aarushi does so but no reply ..{ In which Ivory Tower do this PPl stay, their daughter has lit a dynamite..and they think , it will not affect anyone} ....
Pratigya looks up ...and Krishna has his first glimpse of the blackened face of Pratigya ...he holds her hand and looks at her and then slowly looks at everyone assembled there ..there is a stare for stare betwn Shakthi and Krishna.. then he continues his anger filled glances to one and all ...and finally leads her IN and asks "who did this Heinous Deed ?" OMG the voice !! it is as if the man has lost everything, his heart is shattered, his trust is shredded , his spirit is broken yet seeing the plight of his love he summons up the last of his strength and though mortally wounded , he prepares to do his battle again on her behalf and without any expectations from her ...his voice , dears ...just the hopelessness in his voice ..drives me to tears ...hearing the question Amma pips up that she did {Bravo !! Nominate her for bravery medal] ...and SS takes few potshots at Krishna, he very viciously reminds him of the laborer's episode ..and continues to heap insult at Krishna ....All the words are designed to wound him and it does ,but thru all this ...Krishna though , isolated, bruised, back stabbed takes it all in his chin ...and stands Tall and says ..."THIS IS MY WIFE..." All looked shocked..he does not boast, he does not roar , he states it simply...and in that simplicity he exposes his love ...A love that will be there forever ..and continues saying that whatever decision has to be taken , I will take it..
