Nothing Can Keep Us ApartPart 28 - Doctors, and Ladders and Vickys, oh my!
On Wednesday afternoon, Geet rushed into her office, intending to drop some files before rushing off again, but Maan stopped her. Geet tried to tell him how busy she was, but he wouldn't listen. Geet tried to walk around him, but Maan grabbed her arm and wouldn't let go.
"Maan, leave my hand! Please, leave me, I'm very busy."
"No, you're not busy. In fact your work is finished for today."
"What are you talking about? I really am very busy. I have to meet with draftsman and the modeler about the Chopra project."
"No, you have to meet with the doctor." Geet gave Maan a bewildered look. Maan sighed, and asked, "Did you forget we made another doctor's appointment for this afternoon?"
Maan didn't wait for an answer, but turned Geet around. As Geet continued to protest that she busy, Maan continued to ignore her. Instead, he whisked her away from the office and into their waiting car.
While they were at the doctor's office, Maan had a chance to speak to Geet's doctor alone. He wanted a chance to ask some questions without being interrupted by his wife. Especially since one of the questions was slightly secret in nature.
"The answer to both your questions Mr. Khurana is the same. As long as Mrs. Khurana takes care of herself, and avoids stress as much as possible, I don't see any problem with her continuing to work or do any kind of traveling."
"Are you sure it's alright for her to work? Because our office can be pretty stressful and hectic, plus she has been ill a few mornings. I don't really think it's a good idea."
"Mr. Khurana, I'm sure that it's all right for your wife to work. Right now she seems to be perfectly fine physically, and from what she's told me, working in your company makes her happy. That is equally important. As time goes on, I might recommend a smaller work schedule, but for now, there is no problem."
Maan had to accept this answer, but he didn't like it. He couldn't help but worry about Geet's health constantly, and he was hoping that the doctor would side with him on the work issue. Before he could argue further, Geet joined them, and the doctor got to the business of the visit.
"Mr. and Mrs. Khurana, I'm happy to tell you that everything seems to be moving along fine now. Mrs. Khurana's weight gain has improved to the point where she is now in the healthy range."
Maan interrupted the doctor to ask why Geet didn't look like she had gained any weight, if she was now in the normal range. The doctor had to spend a good amount of time explaining that every pregnancy was different, and that sometimes expectant mothers did not look as pregnant visibly as they really were. She also mentioned that they had done another ultrasound, but were still unable to determine the gender of the baby. She offered them another set of pictures, which Geet wanted to take, but Maan grabbed them first.
"I'll take these." Looking at Geet he went on, "Last time you gave them to Dadima, and she still hasn't given them back. I don't trust you or her with my baby's pictures."

Maan was looking for his wife, but didn't have to go far. When ever they were at home, Geet would spend every spare minute she had in the nursery. When Maan finished the work he had brought home with him, he knew where he would find Geet. Sure enough, when he got to the nursery door, he saw her busy decorating as usual. It was actually very sweet, how much time she put into their soon to be baby's room.
At the moment she was busy doing something with a ladder. Maan was too engrossed in watching Geet's braid swing back and forth as she moved, to pay much attention to what she was doing. Maan entered the room slowly, almost without knowing that he did so. When he was about halfway across the room, he saw Geet move to get down from the ladder and slip instead. With a speed he didn't know he possessed, Maan moved the rest of the way towards Geet and caught her in his arms.
Both Maan and Geet had their eyes closed in response to what almost happened. Geet had also instinctively wrapped her arms tightly around Maan's neck and buried her face in his strong shoulder. After a few moments, Geet quietly told Maan that she was alright and he could let her go. Maan did so angrily.
"Geet, what on earth were you thinking? You should never have been up on a ladder in your condition! Never!"
"Maan, I'm fine. Really, it's alright. There's no need to be upset." If Geet thought that this would calm Maan down, she was definitely mistaken.
"No need to be upset? No need to be upset?" Maan started stalking towards Geet, as she slowly backed away. "What would have happened if I hadn't been here? Would everything have been alright then? You are the clumsiest woman I have ever met! You can't be trusted with any kind of physical labor. From now on, if you want anything, and I mean anything, done in this room, you tell me. Samjhi tum?"
At this point Maan had backed Geet up against the wall, and was giving her his angriest glare. Geet held her ears and said, "Accha, Baba, I'm sorry." This did not win Maan over. Realizing that he wouldn't give up, Geet held her throat and said, "I promise, if I want something done, I'll tell you, theek hai?"
Maan finally relented, and went back over to where Geet had the ladder. Looking around he saw that she had been putting up photographs on the wall. He picked one up of himself, and looked over at her with a question in his eyes. Geet explained to him, that she wanted to put up pictures of the baby's family. Maan nodded his head and began where she had left off. When he came to Vicky's picture, he hesitated briefly, then placed on the wall. He then asked Geet how she had come by the photos.
"Dadiji gave them to me when I asked her for some pictures." Geet walked up next to Maan, saw that he was starring at Vicky's photo, and decided to ask a question she'd wondered about for awhile. "Maan, where is Vicky? You said something once about his case. What did you mean by that?"
For a moment Geet thought Maan wouldn't respond at all, but eventually he said, "Vicky ran away from home six months ago. I've been trying to find him since then."
"Why did he run away?"
Instead of answering, Maan turned to leave. Geet took hold of his arm to stop him from leaving, and repeated her question. It was obvious that Maan didn't want to talk about it, but eventually he told her the story. How Maan and Vicky had argued when Maan found out that Vicky had been skipping college for months. They'd had a terrible row where each had said hateful things to the other. Afterwords, Vicky had left, and Maan hadn't seen him since.
"Is he the one you were looking for in Hoshiarpur?"
Maan nodded yes, but he didn't want to keep talking about it. Geet's mention of Hoshiarpur had him think of a way he could change the conversation. He asked Geet if she had ever wondered why he had been so keen to buy her land. Geet wondered out loud if he would tell her.
"I'd rather show you instead. We could take a trip back. You could see your family." At Geet's sad face, Maan asked, "You miss them don't you? It would be easy to visit them while we're there."
"Yes I miss them, but I don't want to see them. I can't forget what they did to me. The girl you knew in Hoshiarpur, Geet Handa, is dead. Now there is only Geet Khurana. No, I don't want to see them."
Maan could feel Geet's pain at the betrayal of her family, but he wasn't quite ready to let it go. "You seemed close to your sister. You don't even want to see her? I can't believe that you blame her along with the rest of your family."
"I don't. I do miss Rajji. I'd like to see her, but I don't think that Daarji would allow it."
"I'm sure something could be arranged," stated a confident Maan.
The prospect of seeing Rajji after all the months apart, kindled Geet's excitement. She happily asked when they would go. Maan answered that they could go soon after the Chopra project was finalized.
They continued discussing travel plans until Geet gave a faint gasp. Maan was instantly by her side, asking what was wrong. Geet didn't speak. Instead, as an answer, she grabbed Maan's hand and placed it over her abdomen, right where she had felt a stronger kick from the baby.
"Can you feel that?" she asked Maan, looking at him with a huge smile on her face.
Maan could not believe that he could actually feel the baby kicking. He could feel his and Geet's baby kicking, right against his hand. He looked into Geet's eyes, feeling a strange sense of wonder he had never felt before.

Question: When will Geet know that she's also attracted to mann? How long before Geet realizes her feelings for Maan and will it be a life threatening situation that brings about her realization? Answer: Geet already knows that she is attracted to Maan, she's just trying to ignore it. It will be a while before she actually knows that she loves him. What makes her realize, and is it life threatening? Well it depends on what you call life threatening. You all may wonder why Maan and Geet are taking so long with their feelings. Well, I believe that their story is essentially a love story. If they both know of their love for each other, then that kind of ends the story. Also, their characterizations play a huge role. Maan doesn't believe in love, so he'll take a long time, and Geet's been burned by love, so she'll take a long time.
Question: When is geet going to realise that maan loves her? submitted by sweet_gurl93
Answer: After she realizes that she loves Maan.
Question: When will Geet realise that she sleeps in Maan's arms every night and what would her reaction be? submitted by MaaneetDD
Answer: Geet never finds out that she's been sleeping in Maan's arms unknowingly , as she always sleeps later than Maan, and never wakes up in his arms. However, there is a situation coming up where, hmmmmmmmmmm, can I say? Let's just say that eventually she, uh, knows, and is, uh, okay with it.
Question: Is der gonna be any hot love cumin up between those 2? Do U Have Any Xrated Scenes Coming Up For MG? submitted by sweet cherry, Maan_Mahi4Ever
Answer: Hmmmm, xrated. I think that everybody on this forum seems to have different ideas about what is xrated. I live in the US so I think that I'll just say that I'm aiming between PG and PG-13. I can promise that there will be kissing. Yes, we will definitely have kissing!
Question: When will Maan start having uncontrollable flashbacks of Geet and recognising the fact he's changing? Like how he is in the real episodes at the moment. submitted by alias90
Answer: Just because I don't write about them, doesn't mean that Maan doesn't have flashbacks. He's plenty busy thinking about Geet, even when we don't get to see inside his mind. As for realizing that he is changing, he's too focused on taking care of Geet to think much about that.
Question: Is vicky going to make an appearance in this story? Is Vicky going to appear soon in the story? submitted by taskutbimuff *mittu*
Answer: Vicky has been mentioned twice now, plus we got a little bit of his story in this part. So, yes, Vicky will be around. How soon? About as soon as Kalli Dhokaybaaz and Churailtara will be back. Hint, hint.
Question: So when is Geet going to get an ultrasound where maan can see his baby for the first time? submitted by *mittu*
Answer: Geet already had an ultrasound with pictures at her first doctor's appointment, but as you read, Dadi stole those pictures. This time, Maan will make sure he gets to keep the new pictures.
Question: But as for now tell me What actually Sasha is upto. She wanted to sneak out some info from her dad and then what happened? When will MG Figure Out That Sasha Has Been Doing All These Evil Plans? submitted by JhankaaR000, Maan_Mahi4Ever
Answer: Um, in this story it is mentioned yet that Munshiji is Sasha's dad (it will be though). Plus, Sasha hasn't made the Hoshiarpur connection yet (because she's so dumb). Eventually she will do something really nasty (which is also when she'll be revealed), but that is far in the future. About as far as Kalli Dhokaybaaz and Churailtara coming back. Hint, hint.
Question: Just wanted to ask if u too r gonna show tom n jerry fights like the ones happening in Geet right now? submitted by gouri.a
Answer: I don't think so, because I don't think I'm as good at comedy as the CV's are, plus I think that Maan and Geet are kind of beyond that stage at this point in my story. You never know, though, I might end up working some of that stuff in.
Question: Can we plz have a MAHA update like the biggest update ever? submitted by 1smile2
Answer: Very possibly. There is one part of the story that I think needs a massive Maha episode. I might even have to start working on it now, even though that part doesn't happen until way in the future.
