The wait is over for the fans of handsome hunk Shabbir Ahluwalia who has made his come back to small screen after working for Star Plus' 'Kayamath'. The guy will be seen hosting a chat show in Imagine TV named 'Meethi Chhoori No.1'. TellyCafe had a talk with Shabbir about his big break and about the reason to be aloof from the small screen for so long.
Why chat show and not a daily soap?
I wanted to try something different than daily and wanted to explore my talent. Hosting for chat is the place where nothing is scripted, only the start and the end is something that is given otherwise everything is of our own mind and the most important thing is that we can talk anything we want, have fun and also get paid for it (Laughs).
So you were on a break after 'Kayamath'?
Yes, I was on short break. I was continuously traveling and was totally exhausted after continually working for 'Kayamath'. I wanted to take a break so that I can relax and get rid of all the stress, can come back with fresh mind to work again. Actually in real life I am very lazy and need all the rest that is needed and wanted to complete my sleep. So all this was done.
So what do you like about this chat show that you made a come back with it?
This chat show is like something when someone throws a lemon on you, you have to make lemonade out of it and accept it with a smile. Take everything that comes to you in a positive way. This is something which is very true and everyone should apply this strategy to their life. This is the place where all the friends meet under one set up and chat freely without thinking of anybody else. Actually the concept is very unique.
Was Jay the reason to take up the reality show as even he is with you hosting the show?
No, he is not the reason to take up the show. In fact, I did not know that even Jay is going to host the show with me. We had shared good bonding and we share good rapport with each other since 'Kayamath'. It feels nice to work with him. I can say that Jay is the next best replacement for Prachi.
So after hosting few episodes do you think it is easy to know women?
No, never. I don't think we can understand woman in our next seven births. Thjey are very unpredictable. You never know what they are thinking at the moment and how they are taking things and words. The praises are taken in any way they want and the men are unaware about their thoughts. But it feels funny to be with many women, we can try to understand them if possible.
It was seen that the show contains lot of double meaning jokes so what is your stance on it?
Yes! Women crack double meaning jokes on screen but as I said that the set up of the show is like few friends meeting in a room and chat as they like. Being a host I too cannot stop them by restricting them and so far I am concerned I love cracking and listening double meaning jokes.
We heard about your big screen planning, tell us something about that?
No, I can't tell anything about it right now. You have to wait for the same for sometime.
