July 19, 2010 Written Update
Dadi stops Jyoti before she leaves and asks if she is need of some money. Padma and Poonam comes there. Poonam tells Jyoti that for 20 rs u can get a full day bus pass. Dadi scolds Poonam for acting like this towards Jyoti. Poonam tells her that she's been told a woman's true house is their sasural and they are only a guest at their maayka, and says that Jyoti has been a guest for too long. Jyoti tells them that Poonam is right. Poonam hands Jyoti her lunch box, which falls and all see that Poonam has only packed Jyoti some rotis and an onion.😲 Padma tells Jyoti to wait for 5 mins and she will make her something else. Jyoti picks up the fallen food and puts it back into the lunch box and thanks Poonam for packing her lunch. (only you, Jyoti... could've done that) She leaves. In Kabir's room, Kabir is talking to Jyoti's dupatta and says that today is his first day on the job.
Chachi's servant is massaging her feet and inciting her further against RP. RP knocks just then and enters in to tell Chachi of Kabir's new position. He realizes someone has already told her, looking over to the servant😆. Chachi yells at him for not consulting her once and reminds him that he is mayor because of her (wonder how that worked out?😕). She asks of him 2 promises – first, that her son Vikrant (now who's this??) gets his rightful place in the party. And second, that Kabir marries her younger sister's daughter.🤢
Bhavri is in the kitchen with Asha and asks her why Kabir could never marry Jyoti. Asha says that it's because Jyoti is a divorcee. Bhavri laughs and asks why then could Samer marry Asha after leaving his two wives? Asha tells Bhavri she doesn't have any answer for her. She tells her that in this haveli, even screams are silenced. Bhavri tells Asha that she believes one day someone will hear their screams. (I think this sentence is definitely foreshadowing Jyoti getting into social work, and possibly maybe even helping out Asha and Bhavri one day)
Jyoti searches for jobs, but is unsuccessful. Kabir meanwhile is being well accepted in RP's party(he is still wearing the dupatta around his neck😳). Jyoti finally reaches one place where the boss asks abt her marital status. She answers that she's a divorcee. He at once gives her the job, praising her perseverance. He shows her to a cabin and even tells her to try sitting at the chair. She sits down, and he puts his hand on her shoulder. He hands her a wad of cash and tells her to let him know if she needs anymore. Jyoti throws the money on his face and screams at him.👏👏👏 He yells back at her, telling her he's not surprised why her husband left her. She slaps him hard⭐️, and the entire office turns their way.
Jyoti runs towards a river and screams out to the sky and asks God why he hates her so much. First her husband left her, then her child was taken away, and finally after falling in love she had to give it away because of circumstances. She sits down and tells Him that she is not leaving unless He tells her what she needs to do. Suddenly a car pulls up and a girl falls out. She starts running. Jyoti runs after her all the way to a well. The girl is abt to jump in when Jyoti pulls her back and tells her that she won't let her die. The girl screams that she wants to die, and leaves Jyoti's grasp, and falls into the well. Jyoti is shocked. (yup, i can definitely see Jyoti entering into a social work scene now, working to help women speak up against injustices)
