It is a known fact that I HATE LUV STORYS is a success and thankfully Bollywood now has a new pairing to look forward to. Devoid of many fresh faces making a mark, the only ones that seemed to be available in the industry were Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone and Neil Nitin Mukesh. However, now with this Karan Johar production managing to hit the bull's eye, Sonam Kapoor is confident that her pairing with Imran will go all the way for years to follow, just as it did for Shah Rukh Khan - Kajol and Anil Kapoor - Madhuri Dixit.

"I am sure it will," says Sonam in a confident tone, "I was sure about this from the very beginning and now everyone would certainly agree with me after seeing the film. I knew that we worked well together. In the modern day Bollywood cinema, whether it is Madhuri Dixit or my dad (Anil Kapoor), Shah Rukh Khan or Kajol - these have been the most popular and prolific pairing ever. It is going to be the same with Imran and Sonam."

Well, her stance comes with a strong reason. Some aggressive marketing and promotion coupled with the fact that audience were looking forward to a new 'jodi' ensured that IHLS got one of the best starts at the box office this year. It was heartening considering the fact that last couple of outings for both Sonam (SAAWARIYA, DELHI 6) and Imran (KIDNAP, LUCK) were hardly flattering. Though the film did taper down in the subsequent week, a good start meant that the battle was pretty much won with the 'hit' tag in everyone's kitty.
"From the very first day of the film's shoot, Imran and I have got some great chemistry going for us", says Sonam about the fresh new pairing that I HATE LUV STORYS offered, "It's like the personal characteristics of two people getting translated on screen. We are opposites and we get along. I guess this is how most popular pairings ever have worked."
