A Story, A Request [Comments not needed]

She dragged herself out of the car and tiptoed towards them cautiously. Slow and steady. They didn't seem to take note of Her arrival and continued with their threatenings. The woman in their hold was sobbing hysterically.

"Leave her!"

Each of them turned around and stared at Her. If looks could kill, those robbers would be six feet under by now because the look She gave them was murderous. Before any of them could find the situation humorous (four sturdy men being ordered by a delicate looking girl was indeed laughable), Her foot made perfect contact with the elbow of one, making him loosen his hold. The weeping woman was pulled back into Her soft arms.

The men rounded on Her. She pushed the woman away, almost throwing her out of the way, yelling "Go! Just go!" Her voice sounded angry but anyone could know, without looking at Her, that She was scared.

The woman was still standing with her mouth agape and the feet planted firmly on the ground. Her eyes were not focused as she looked in Her direction. Then, the woman shook her head, as though trying to forget what She had done for her, before sprinting off.

"How dare you!" one of the men screamed at Her while pulling a knife out of his jacket pocket and pointing it at Her.

Fear coiled like a tight ball in the pit of Her stomach and Her heart thumped loudly in Her chest. She gasped and stared in horror at them all. Her little stint of selflessness wasn't going to do Her any good. "Don't!" She said shrilly, her eyes never leaving the knife, "put it down," She whispered.

"Then run!"

One of the men shouted at Her but She remained still, summoning every ounce of Her courage to fight (and win). She wouldn't follow orders from them.

"Don't think we won't do it," another warning.

She darted forwards and punched the man in the face. Everything seemed to move in slow motion as the knife slashed across Her. She watched in horror as the knife plunged again into her stomach. She let go of the man and collapsed to the ground, blood seeping from Her chest, the knife protruding out of Her body.

They ran away.

------

He dropped to the ambulance floor beside Her and grabbed Her hand, "You'll be fine," He murmured, kissing Her forehead and stroking Her hair. Her eyes found His and She clutched His hand tighter. "I know," She said faintly, a ghost of a smile on Her lips.

He looked back at the girl who had captured His heart and saw the life slowly leaking from Her. His heart throbbed frantically in His chest and the pain He felt was almost crippling.

"Don't close your eyes!" He protested, holding Her hand tighter. Don't, don't, don't, don't, don't. It was all He could think.

Her face was deathly pale and the bloodstain on Her dress wasn't getting any smaller. He wondered why Her beautiful face was wet and realised with jolt that it was His tears.

What if??? He couldn't even finish that thought. She wasn't going to die! At least, not alone!

------

There ends the story, now time for the request. I wrote this not for literary relief or pleasure; I write this merely for my own accord: so that I may find some sort of comfort. Perhaps, I am simply writing this to be an idiot, so that I may find some reassurance that my world actually exists, where people can be helpful, if not selfless. Of course, you have no inkling of an idea to what I am speaking of, so I must expound on the theory.

The story, however unreal it may seem; is perfectly real. Two of my friends are going throught this phase in their lives; one because She has been hurt and the other also because of the same reason: "She" has been hurt and this hurts him. My request is simple. It won't even take more than a minute of your life. Please remember both my friends in your prayers today. Even if you don't pray, keep them alive in your hopes. You don't need to comment on this post or even to press the like button. Just fulfil my request and I would be content. I don't want my friend to lose herself to the wounds and pain. She won't be the only one I would lose.

Yes, this is not exactly a DMG related post. But the two friends are IF-members. Maybe that would give you reason enough for spending a minute of your life on my request.
