Finale ke baad...

DIVYA PAL, TNN, Jul 12, 2010, 12.00am IST
The battle of the sexes that kicked off over a couple of months back couldn't have deserved a better result. It was, as reality show fans would agree, quite a predictable win of Massakali girls. Contestants speak their heart out to DT about what they cherished the most while shooting for Zara Nachke Dikha Season 2 (ZND), strategies that could have changed the result and their plan to de-stress themselves. Read on...

Only if we had Sanjeeda! Thanks to their consistent efforts and grit, Massakali girls succeeded at bagging the title and prize money (Rs 5 million) yet again. Much to the disappointment of Mastkalandar boys? Naah! Explains Mastkalandar captain Aamir Ali, who believes it is pointless to "crib about the result. After all, it is a game wherein only one is expected to win. One has to learn to take things in stride. But we managed to give a tough competition to the girls' team. If we were given a chance to swap one of our members with someone from the girls' team, we would have chosen Sanjeeda.."

I'll miss rehearsals: Massakali captain Sangeeta Ghosh sounds content because she doesn't "have to analyse the situation and think about the flaws that could have been prevented." Down with fever, she tells us in a throaty voice, "I finally got time to take rest. Beyond a point, long hours of rehearsals do take a toll on your health. But now that the show is over, I know I will miss the rehearsals and the brain-storming session with my team."

DIL TOH BACHCHA HAI JI! Arshad, who staged a dance performance with wife Maria Goretti after 15 years, said his "phone didn't stop ringing since the first promo of the performance went on air. "What was aired was what even we hadn't seen. So there was a bit of surprise for us too. I was quite nervous but Vaibhavi was a great help. I would give Maria full marks for she performed gracefully. And if we get an opportunity to perform together again on a platform like ZND, we won't mind." Shouldn't Raj Kundra have accompanied Shilpa for her performances too? "I can't imagine him do Kajara Re with Shilpa. I remember how skeptical Shilpa was about doing a Mujra. But she did it with great lan," he said.

No pain, just gain: Abhishekh Awasthi says he doesn't let reality shows' result bother him a bit. Why so? "Have you ever seen any deserving candidate win any reality show ever? I only believe in giving my best performance. For actors who need monetary benefits, reality show is the best bet." Is he happy that Rakhi Sawant apologized to his mother on a national TV? "Yes. Rakhi admitted her mistake on the show. Koi shikwa nahin hai Rakhi se. But this doesn't mean we will be back as a pair. I have, at least, moved on in my life," he added.

Memories... For Mukti, March 19, 2010 will always hold a special significance. Reason? "That's the day I met the team of Zara Nachke Dikha. More than anything else, it is the journey of knowing my fellow contestants that I will always value." Akshatt was thrilled to meet cricketers Harbhajan Singh and Irfan Pathan. "Even though the two of them are huge stars, they spoke to me like we knew each other since ages."
