It was funny when Atul asked Sandeep the reason for his height and Sandeep's reply that it was because of Complan (Ovalitine like supplement). [I heard that Sandeep's reply was cut from US telecast) They were focusing on the Compaln mugs when Geeta was giving her comments as well. Also, last week in the limelight they made Dsir praise the cell phone he got as the prize for being the best skipper of the week.

Also, in DID2 they made the mentors gift Reebok stuff to their contestants.

'What do you guys think ? Did anyone notice any other product placements?

For me, it is expected to see such ads in the show. I was watching a marketing documentary called "the persuaders" the other day and it showed how a common person is bombarded with so much information that it is becoming increasingly hard for companies to communicate with their target audience. One solution the companies are trying is to include these ads in the popular shows that ppl watch, so a person has no other choice but to notice the product!

Complan and all these other companies are going the same way, reaching their target market in such a way that their target market can do nothing but notice the product.

However, I am just SO glad that the school bag company (American tourister I think) is not a sponsor anymore. I HATE THAT COMPANY for promoting their product at such a sad time, when a contestant is being eliminated and crying. 👎🏼 Bad bad strategy by their marketing team coz now I attach sadness and negative feelings with the brand whereas school bags are suppose to be associated with youth, innocence, fun, carefree life. For me, their strategy didn't work, and I'll probably never buy American Tourister bags bcz I think they are horribble people for promoting their products when a kid is crying and being eliminated!

It happens in all reality shows..each episode of a reality show requires huge amount of money for the shoot...where do you think the amount comes from??

Ha Ha...that is funny.....Product placement is a reality and justifiable as DB points out but in the US there are laws on what rules "product placements" have to follow....Mostly for a proper disclosure informing the public that what is product placement with a commercial purpose wven if it is embedded in an episode. There is only very restrictive placement allowed if proper disclosure can not be followed. No wonder they have been editing off all such placement...because they don't seem to follow any of the rules in DID. 😆
