Holi is just a week away.. This is one festival that is celebrated the most in our movies.. Thought its a nice idea to look back at the different Holi songs..

I guess, the first song that comes to mind is obviously 'Rang barse'... Amitabh are Rekha go absolutely reckless in the song, and the way Jaya and Sanjeev Kumar potray their discomfort is amazing.. Lot of under-currents going along with the song...

Would like to hear more on this and all the other holi songs that come to your mind..

Its 'Holi ke din dil mil jate hai rango se dil khil jate hai' - that one is masterpiece too...

Sholay song is "Holi ke din dil khil jaate hain, rangon mein rang mil jaate hain"

Oops - sorry for the wrong lyrics... 😳

Would like to mention 'Dekho aai holi' from Mangal Pandey.. though the song was not well timed in the movie, but its a nice composition from ARR

Its hardly appropriate to put it but there is a song from the movie "Waqt" - Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra, something like "Its holi"

'Aaj na chhodenge, o humjoli khelenge hum holi' from Kati patang is a nice one.. Asha parekh, who is posing as a window in the movie is forced to colors in the song by Rajesh Khanna and gets all drenched in colors...

How could you forget the best one which has so much history and romance and you know Silsila behind this ....

Rang Barsey, Bhegey chunar Valey rang bursey;
Arre Kiney mari pichkarey mori bhegi angeyay;
O rasia man basia .........

.... Khayey gori ka yaar bulam tarsey rang barsey.....

My fav holi song - i could write this whole song. Yashjee did a fabulous job - Rekha was Ummmmm ummmmmm.... 😉
