Teen suicides seems common these days due to exam and social pressures.
But why ?
Parents not spending enough time with kids, or unnecessary pressures , or bullying in school ?
should Teachers be better trained to handle teens ?
Schools are too results orientated these days and do not care.
Personally I believe that kids should be well behaved and proper and I would not bother too much about academic results, so long as they try their best.

TWO Pioneer Junior College classmates died within three weeks of one another by leaping from high-rise blocks of flats about a year ago, a coroner's court heard on Thursday.

Ho Yi Xin, 17, was described as a hard-working student with high expectations of herself. Her ambition was to be a doctor.

The second-year Pioneer Junior College student had been seeing a private psychiatrist since June last year as she was feeling anxious in school and at home. She had problems sleeping and could not concentrate on her studies.

Her last visit to the psychiatrist was on July 3 - the day she was found dead at the foot of Block 533 Jelapang Road in Bukit Panjang. She was believed to have fallen from the 24th storey of the block as her silver-coloured bag was found there.

At an inquiry into her death, the court heard that Yi Xin, an introvert, had confided in her classmate around May last year that she was depressed over a detention form given by her favourite teacher for being late.

Seventeen days later, her classmate, Wong Peek Yian, leapt to her death from her seventh-floor bedroom window at Jurong West Street 81. Peek Yian had found out that she had done badly in her mid-year examination and dreaded to see her vice-principal over her poor performance.

A few hours before her death leap, she had sent text messages to her boyfriend, full-time national serviceman Valentino Lee, 19, telling him that her teacher had advised her not to see him too often.

State Coroner Victor Yeo recorded a verdict of suicide on both deaths. He felt that their deaths were a sad coincidence and there was no evidence to suggest that Peek Yian was emboldened to follow Yi Xin in her footsteps.

Well when you were a teen did you have any suicidal tendencies or felt like forcing some kids to commit suicide ?
Or told them "You Foooool ! Go hang yourself"😆

I think most students who commit suicide are introverts and do not mix around so much.
the above report implies that the teachers are to blame too.
This is not fair I think.
Parents should be the first to be blamed followed by the teachers and school etc. unless of course it was due to relationship with the opposite sex problem.

this one was a favourite line amongst us whenever we spoke nonsense..

eg "I'm getting my voter id!"
"Go hang yourself."

or

"I really enjoyed that last lecture!"
"Go hang yourself."

or , well, you get my drift.

But this never was the case :

"I'm committing suicide guys! What should I do?"
"Go hang yourself."

You see, I feel that most of these kiddies allocate too much importance to exams, sweethearts etcetera 🤪 They're really pained by it, like a giant dog is being shoved down their throat, so they feel that life isn't worth living. Hence, the noose/drug overdose/wrist slits etc.

Also these kids find it fashionable to commit suicide. It's the new "in" thing right now. All the cool dudes and hot babes commit suicide now, it's a sad thing really, sadder when Hillary Clinton lost the election to Obama.

They feel its an "escape route to heaven". Why do you think the chinkies commit suicide so often? It's because they want to reach heaven faster than "white american".

When I was a teen I wanted to kill a few people, not including myself. 😃

The number of teen suicides is increasing . There is a lot of peer and social pressure. Parents expectations are quite high, support system is minimal. Parents lack time, teachers are over burdened and couldnt care less. Good behaviour is not deemed to be as important as getting good grades 🤢 Tolerance level is quite low all around !

How often can a suicide be committed ? 😆 The failures get to attempt more and thus be more fashionable 😃
