Simi cant talk back to Neetu or Anuj or anyone who she feels is her own. Abhi is a whole new world altogether.
The same Simi can hold five men at gunpoint when it comes to the issue of Abhi getting nearly murdered.
Cant really fathom whats in her heart.
And she told Abhi today....Tumhe zara si bhi chot pahunche, toh mujhe bahut dard hota hai.
I was happy today

Every heard of the saying, too little too late? Well that's what this line means to me. While it can make you happy, it is pretty meaningless when this is the very person who did not give a hoot about this guy when she chose to marry Nakul or the multiple times she has lead him on or put her own family first.
The writers just threw in this line because they know they've done a shoddy job. Perhaps you can forgive the writers for the rubbish that was thrown but I can't and this line is not enough to resolve the damage that was done to Simi's character or the treatment of Abhi.
It takes a lot more than this line to make me happy with the show. I don't care for these morsels; I expect quality writing.

Morsel? Which morsel, Laila. Where was the morsel of concern or love in that scene from Simi. Yes, there was a dialogue from her. It was a hollow dialogue with no meaning. If there was no such dialogue in that scene, there would not be anything in that scene that would say Simi had any concern for Abhi, her husband. Yes, she did scream, she held the gun at the goons and Nakul. She is shown to be taking care of her wounded husband. Anything else? She said that dialogue, but there was no concern in her face or in her heart. Concern on face would come from deep within and that was NOT there AT ALL. Where was the required supporting expression for that dialogue on Simi face? Totally not there. I do not even think that as a morsel even.

There was one another scene. Abhi holding Mili's hand and calmly telling her never to repeat this (leaving the house) again. Even here, there was no concern. Abhi just tells a dialogue calmly. Nothing in his eyes or expression.

In this same episode want to see some concern, go watch Manit Joura's expression when Vicky looks at Neetu. He has pain in his eyes. This I would call a morsel bcos it was a bit scene. But Manit really shined in that bit scene in bringing out the pain.
But from the lead characters ZILCH!!!

😆 Are you saying that the scene was poorly acted or that the dialogue itself was meaningless regardless of how it was performed? To me the dialogue was meaningless regardless of whether someone like Meryl Streep had delievered it. Its like when did Simi start to care about Abhi all of a sudden? This woman didn't give a hoot when Abhi was beaten to death over and over again, went through ever obstacle imaginable to save her from getting married to a potential rapist (two in fact). NEVER did we see a word of appreciation from her to this day. Sorry readers but I don't assume things. Morsels of this don't make me happy. So whether or not Smirti Kalra or Neil Bhatt executed these scenes with Academy level performances, the lines were meaningless and very amateurish. Dialogue writers like the late Dr. Rahi Masoom Reza (a close family friend) would be turning in his grave.

Laila,
I agree Simi is a very poorly written character by the writers of this show. But, that dialogue did have potential. Probably if Meryl Streep (your example) or someone else with skills to deliver a right performance had said it, they would have shown some concern on the face and/or eyes in addition to saying that dialogue. But from Smiriti in that dialogue there was ZERO concern. She said that dialogue just matter-of-factly and I can not go ga-ga over such things.

A good actor would try to put in their 100% to however badly written a character they have to enact, they try every bit to salvage the character. Simi character is poorly written since long, yes, but in that scene Smiriti's was a poor acting as well.

OMG! You are a relative of Rahi Masoom Reza! During my younger days we had just 1 channel in India (DD) and they used to air Hindi films and I used to watch with my mom. We used to specifically read the title credits (which used to be shown in the beginning of a film) to see if the writer is Rahi Masoom Reza and never fail to watch the movie. He had worked on some TV serials as well and if me or my mom catch his name, we used to tell each other - "This is written by Rahi Masoom Reza" and definitely watch it. Wow!

Bee5, Family friend, tragically not relative, but a family friend that would claim he was a distant relative. I personally never met him but he was a close friend to my uncle, father and mother. My father would joke and say that he remembered the days when he and my uncles would sit with the late Dr. Reza by the "ganda nala" while he would recite his poems.
Can you imagine what he could have done with the show Karol Bagh? You would not have any of this kabootar babootar dialogue but really deep and expressive lines that you would remember today.
See Bee, the line would have had more meaning if it was said by a character that genuinely cared. Just throwing that line there is meaningless in light of Simi's earlier behavior - it has no logic.
I totally agree with you though, even the worst dialogue can have life breathed into it by a talented actor but tragically I feel that this line could have had more meaning a) if it made sense in the overall state of affairs and b) had more meat to it.
I believe many are no longer concerned at the inconsistency with the storyline as long as they receive lines like this and get to see Simi-Abhi scenes but for me there is A LOT of unfinishined business and until the writers resolve these, I am not going to get excited or appreciate these one off sentences.
