Read all the parts now n jus loved them

Loved the way Maaneet's relation was progressing the way he cared for her n all

Dadi was really swwet n helpful here

Maan really wants to help Geet out but Geet is too stubborn n confused i thk presently to listen to him

Nothing Can Keep Us Apart

Part 9 - What needed to be done.

Maan could not remember being more frustrated in his life. He had made repeated attempts to talk to Geet, but they had all been unsuccessful. He had waited outside Geet's house quite late before going back to find out from Pinky where she was. Being told by Pinky that Geet didn't want to see or talk to him was the limit. He knew she would have to come home sometime and he would wait in his car until she did.

In between Maan's attempts to see Geet, he also spent a good deal of time on the phone with his usual private investigation firm. After explaining exactly what information he wanted, he offered double the usual overtime pay if all the firm's investigators were put on the case. The sooner this was done the sooner Dev would get what he deserved. With nothing else to do but sit and wait, Maan's thoughts inevitably turned to Geet. He remembered all the times he had come to her rescue in Hoshiarpur. He had thought that Geet was just one of those girls who gets into trouble all the time, but now he understood that every trouble she had faced since he met her was due only to his brother. Since Dev was his responsibility, that meant that it was really his fault Geet had suffered so much.

Maan thought back to the scene at the office, when Geet confronted Dev. "You devil! You traitor! How dare you! I will see you in jail for what you've done to me!" It really should be Geet who saw to his brother's punishment, but if she wouldn't listen, then it was up to him, Maan Singh Khurana, to do what needed to be done.

Exhaustion finally over came Maan and he dosed off sometime during the night. He woke up with a stiff neck from the position that he was sleeping in, just in time to see Pinky trying to leave secretly. Maan hurriedly rushed out of the car and over to Pinky, calling her name. Pinky stopped and turned toward him, but looked nervously around, like she didn't know what to do.

"Where are you going, to see Geet?" demanded Maan.

"Nai, nai! Office," replied Pinky.

"Did Geet come home?" was the next question. Pinky shook her head no.

"Tell me where she is," ordered Maan.

Pinky looked uncertain, like she didn't want to say, but Maan's angry looks soon had her speaking. "She moved and got another job. She's not coming back here."

"What do you mean she's not coming back? Where is this other job? What is her address?"

Pinky bit her lip nervously, because she new that DD would not like her answer. "She won't tell me because she doesn't want you to know where she is. I'm sorry but I can't tell you anything."

Maan glared at Pinky, but said, "Fine! If you won't tell me where she is, I'll find her myself." Maan left Pinky and strode angrily back to his car.

Maan had no luck finding Geet. He spent most of the day searching for her at hostles, hotels, and even some inexpensive apartments for rent, but nothing. He was sure she hadn't left Delhi, for how would she have been able to get a job in another city so quickly. He was just about to give up for the day and go home when he received a call from the investigation firm. They were finished with their investigation and requested him to come get the results. Maan agreed, thinking, "that at least one thing went right today".

Maan knew that Dev had acted despicably, but having it all laid out in black and white really emphasized the evilness of Dev and apparently Naintara's plan. The investigators had been very thorough, even including details that Geet had not already given him. With the evidence in hand, Maan strode out of the office as he used his phone to call his grandmother.

As Savitri answered Maan immediately said, "The investigation is done."

Savitri closed her eyes and clutched the phone as she said,"Please tell me that it was someone else. Please tell me that Dev was not involved."

"I can't do that Dadima. It was him. They even got confirmation from his mother."

"What? Parminder was involved?"

"Why do you think she wouldn't come back to India. She's too ashamed of her son, knowing what he's done. Dadima, I'm on my way to the police right now. I intend to hand over all this evidence to them and then bring them to arrest Dev."

"Oh, Maan, no! Not the police, please."

"Dadima, I would rather just kill him with my bare hands, but as that scum isn't worth going to prison for, I'll have to settle for sending him there instead. Besides, it's what Geet wants, and since she isn't here to do it, it's now my responsibility."

"I understand, Maan, but prison? I never thought Dev would do anything so bad that we'd have to turn him over to the police."

"It's not just Dev, Dadima. Naintara was also involved up to her neck. The whole plan was her idea to start with. Just, don't say anything to them. We'll be there as soon as possible."

Savitri put down the phone and wept as if her heart was breaking.

Precap:

Naintara had been quick enough to realize that no one had mentioned Geet's pregnancy. She didn't know if Geet had gotten an abortion, or not, but she wasn't going to take any chances.

That was really interesting! Great update! I loved the bit of suspense part......eagerness of Maan......his getting the evidence......everything was great! Do continue real soon.
