Feeling compassion for others is a great gift: Terence Lewis
Mumbai: Iam spiritually inclined but don't follow an organised religion, since not all questions can be answered by a particular religion. So, a spiritual path is what I intend to follow. Seeking truth, compassion in my fellowmen, is what spirituality means to me; essentially it's an awakening of oneself.
I don't have a spiritual guru. There is no one particular person or book that I consider as my bible. The book could be written by any author, Indian or international. The only religion that I closely follow is Buddhism. Compassion for others is a great gift and if you are compassionate towards your enemy, you will definitely rise above and attain a greater level of understanding.
Ideally, I would like to devote a good 15-20 minutes of my time each day to connect to my spirituals side. People come to me seeking advice and a lot of my energy is drained out.So, to
recharge,I need that time for myself.
There are many ways to rejuvenate oneself. Either you can chant OM dailyor go for a walk or even an early morning jog. Watching the sun rise is a beautiful sight and that works for me.
I was an angry young man until a couple of years ago. I used to lose my temper at people who didn't perform well.
Later, I realised that nobody is perfect, myself included. Now I'm more compassionate and understanding and try to keep my cool.
