How lucky most of us are! We have 100s of television channels filled with tonnes of shows made simply to entertain all of us! In the process of entertaining us these shows also tend to educate and enlighten us with priceless knowledge and information and one of them is the superb and award worthy show called Desi Girl from which I got to learn many many things some of which are as follows:-

1.You can wear tank tops, sports bras, tight pants and similar dresses and pass of as a normal village girl even though everyone else either wears Salwar Kameez or Kurta Pyjama

2.No Matter what time of the day or night it is in a village, always wear dresses which lets you expose as much skin as you can and dont bother about things such as mosquitoes or insects biting your exposed body parts!

3.If in a segment of the show you are suddenly asked to take the help of young desi 'mundas' to complete a task and lo! they are available very nearby flying kites! And they will play hard to get when you ask for their help!

4.You can be a woman in her late 30s or be married and yet be called a desi 'girl' though in reality you are a woman.

5.If you are a woman who came to bollywood with hopes of becoming a movie star or act as the heroine in a bollywood blockbuster and couldnt make it and not getting any jobs, then worry not, you can always get some work in the next season of Desi girl or similarly titled show in some tv channel! But ensure you have the right talent for it though! You need to have an ok looking face and a great body to carry it and most importantly be prepared to wear nice revealing outfits in a rural setting

Phew! I think I have shared enough knowledge for a day and I am sure most of you are dying to share your personal moments of gaining blissful knowledge watching this show and I was wondering if you folks will share them here

😆 thats so true!

I learned that if you come in the show to learn how to do all these household chores..you can learn within a week! 👏Within a week [if you are an expert desi] you turn how to make tea for 10 people, pick up gobar, clean the wholee house, etc.😕

I also learned that in a punjabi village, everyone can speak hindi quite well...

More Things I learnt watching Desi Girl

7. In order to learn about the village way of life you need to master the skill of beautifully dressing up [or decorating] a cow or buffalo and walk along with it in front of a crowd of villagers who will decide which is the best dressed cow or buffalo. Just to ensure the cow or buffalo doesnt steal attention from you wear some hot looking dress such as a low skirt or gown.

8.Modern westernised girls in a rural setting fight over serious issues such as who put in more effort in decorating a cow and when it happens other participants give interviews and opinions about it while keeping a straight and serious face.

9.Viewers of reality shows love it when the participants give minute by minute commentary of the tasks you are doing such as arranging piles of hay over each other

10.Women in villages cry inconsolably when one of the participants who just moved into their house a few days back is leaving to go to another house which is within walking distance

11.If among a group of 8 girls you are the least glamourous looking [that is you dont look that 'hot' even in skimpiest attire] or least powerful in real life then expect to be eliminated very soon in the contest!
