I was in Europe last week...and read this article in Financial Times (FT) on ratings war going on between Indian TV channels. Here is a link...I am not posting the full aticle due to respect for the copyrights...DID is not metioned in this article....but there are some comments about increasing popularity of the "reality" angle ...even to the extent that the fiction shows are also trying this angle. Here goes

Arre you're reading the financial times? Kya baath! 😆
I love business, economics etc and The Times is interesting but the financial times is SO boring! lol

Anyways, the link only works for registered users. :(
But there has always been a hell of a lot of competition between all these reality shows and not the competition involves all those daily dramas too. At the end of the day, those daily serials still top the charts no matter how much we complain about the lack of imagination in the storyline lol. The only time it becomes a cause of concern is when actors have to suffer due to the extra shifts, extra work pressure from producers.

My family back home actually know the guy who rents out his studios to ekta kapoor for some of his shows and rest assured, she is just as evil as she looks. 😆 The women will do ANYTHING to prove her dominance in the tv industry, even if that means bad mouthing her stars..IN FRONT OF THEM! and making them work extremely long hours till she is satisfied.

Guess it isn't all just fame and fortune after all..

Oh I am sorry...I did not realize that the link does not work....😕. I actually don't read FT that often and not a subscriber either...but I can see the article...so I don't know why it does not work. Any way, you are right about the competition and the ratings! It is a dog eat dog world...isn't it?
