First of all, let me say I just don't like kids under so much pressure and competing like this. Yes, I know...you will say it is a part of the game....I know it is...but I really do believe that so many of these kids are really talented, and deserving... and it breaks my heart to select a few...Lets see...if I will get over this feeling or not...Any way here is what I think about the performances today....
Vatsal- 9.5/10- What an amazing performance. Extremely high level of difficulty, and very cleanly executed. If they don't select a performer like this...I start to lose confidence in the process. What are they basing the judgement on? Sandeep does not make sense when he says Kalaripaayattu was a lot...I really disagree...Here is the first time I felt ..I wanted Terrence back in the show...I really would have liked to hear his comments.....I am starting to feel that Farah has better judgement between Sandeep and her.
Avneet 9.5/10- She did an amazing job. Very clean dance and amazing expressions. The degree of difficulty was significantly less than Vatsals but the expressions made up for everything. Her acting display after the dance was also very entertaining.
Shivani- 9.0/10 - Shivani has a lot of grace. She is extremely elegant. Again, I don't agree with sandeep that mixing with Kathak was a flaw. No one was presenting a pure style of dance...they were not instructed to...when did it become a criterion?
Manpreet 9.0/10 - The choreography was very good. I though his slide was a bit clumsy, it was stick-slide, stick-slide, but the slow portions were very nice. The still stand at the end of the dance was also a bit clumsy...but the overall degree of difficulty was very high.
Neel- 9.0/10 - I liked Neels' dance. I think he is as good as tier of dancers who are in top 8 at the moment. Farah said...they have seen it before... I had not seen it before, so it was really good for me.
Anurag- 8.0/10- Anurag did very well today. He was confident and danced very well. The degree of difficulty, I would say was not much.
Aadhar 8.0/10 - I thought Aadhar danced very well, but some how the way he carries his body does not look as clean as some of the other dancers.
Khyati- 7.5/10 - This girl is amazing, Her back bends are nothing like I have seen before....She is really flexible and can do things no one can....I did think she was a bit too much under pressure and you could see it on her face...while she was dancing; so she lost a few points just because of that.
Smriti- 7.5/10- She was good but not great. She did not make much of an impression on me.
Hansika- 7.5/10 - Hansika dances very well...but may be Farah is right...her expression are just a bit much. Also, she does not hold her still positions very well. She has to do better there. She did not stand out for me today...
Nyana- 7.5/10 - Dance was nice but the expressions, for me, were too much. Is Tera Chehra a sad song, really? Sorry...I did not like it.
Shubham - 6/10- I found his choreography to be just so average...and the perfromance too. Unfortunatey...for him, I would have to say that he is not even close to many other dancers, who ddanced today.
If I were to make a conclusion based on todays performance I would have put the following in the top tier as the 8 that remain...
Avneet, Vatsal, Neel, Shivani, and Manpreet and based on the performance of today alone.. I would
have selected Vatsal and Avneet...
When Vatsal...went out...I agreed he was not the best...but today he and Avneet were the best.
but then again, I am not some one who has to think about bringing something new in the show, or has to worry that 2 skippers already have 3 contestants, or anything else like that. I am disappointed to say that I just couldn't rule out that these factors could have played a role in the final selection.
