Wow yaar you all have been watching CID for so many years and I'm a very new CID fan compared to all you,and Dayabi great topic yaar I always wanted to share how I started watching CID with all of u.
Now coming to me,sach bataoon I was never interested in CID rather I used to think ki aise shows kaun dekhta hai ??,I liked reading detective stories but shows as such never watched any other than some 2-3 on Doordarshan. One day maybe approximately during 2008 and early 2009,my bro was having holidays and I was also sitting with no work to do,and TV pe there were no good shows coming,so my bro just thought lets watch this show, which was CID,luckily during that period CID 2003-2005 time episodes were being aired which had Asha and Sudhakar as well,I already was a fan of Ashwini Kalsekar so just watched the show out of curiosity and I don't know when I fell in love with this show,my bro who made me watch CID for the 1st time lost interest in it and I became a CID lover totally
Then I came to IF and joined CID forums and the way you all discussed the episodes(I was really impressed y Prabha di,Visrom and Drilabh then) was so lovely that I couldn't resist myself from joining in,I'd rather say my true addiction to CID began after I joined CID forums, after I heard about Abhijeet's story in this forum,I looked at the show from another angle and I first fell in love with Abhijeet's character and he became the main reason for me to watch CID,but the 1st episode I saw on actual Air Date was Behroopiya and maybe that was the first time I cried whaile watching a tv show after that my love for Abhijeet and Daya increased a lot.
All in all it wasn't love at first sight for me but rather I don't know when I fell in love with the show and slowly got so involved in the show ki ab tak I've watched almost all the possible episodes thanks to Prabha di,Bento and everyother video uploaders and now no one can say I'm new to the show,I'm sure mujhe iss show ke baare mein kaafi kuch patha hai.Addicted to CID and enjoying my Addiction !!!!

However, CID got more and more interesting...and one day came the clincher. "Case of the Missing Bullet". This guy Daya who was standing in the background all these days got a full-fledged episode to himself. That scene where he was accused of murder and Viren asked him to handover the gun and his badge was the ultimate picture. I can NEVER forget that scene. That helpless expression of Daya, looking absolutely downcast as if he was about to cry. For the first time, I felt like walking into the TV and giving him a big hug. The episode ended mid-way as it was a 1/2 hour show. I coudn't stand the suspense for the whole week - whether Daya's name would be cleared or not. And I saw the second part where he was about to commit suicide....and I was screaming out asking him not to shoot himself. The episode ended with Daya crying in ACP's arms.
DAYA HAD ARRIVED and made a permanent place for himself in my heart as one of my most favourite TV characters.

Wow Visrom...now I feel like watching "case of the missing bullet" 😔... it sounds so good. Wish they'd air it soon.

Maybe the way I describe it, it is being hyped a lot. There is a lot of difference between watching it now and watching it then. Now we know Daya as the HERO. At that time he was not. And we didn't know CID was going to become such a big show.
There might have been many more better episodes after that too. After watching so many re-runs, and considering that your expectations from this episode are very high, maybe......you may feel....'is episode ko itna chadhane ki kya zaroorat hai...yeh itna bhi khaas nahin hai'. Some people who are used to seeing Abhijeet might miss him...because he was not there then.
At that time it was not like that. It was a turning point...something drastic like what Behroopiya did to us...which changed the way people started looking at CID.

I can never be disappointed when it comes to Daya Sir. I can fine tune my brain to 1999 and watch it as if I know nothing that happened after this case..

my story is very similar to that of didobhav's:
i have always been intetested in investigation books as well as serials. Last year, around april-may, we got a new channel om our dish. It was sony. While surfing channels, i came across this serial named cid. I began watching thinking that it would be i interesting. But i was wrong. It was about this bald man always shaking his fingers and running here and there with a group of depressed officers.
So i forgot about it. Then during my holidays in july, i was so bored, and there was nothing worthwile to watch on tv. My sister began watching cid. I joined her, and cid became a pass time for me. At that time, it used to be aired 24*7.
Anyway, once my classes started, i again forgot all about it, though my sister used to watch it regularly. And she became a silent member of the cid forum. I used to read the discussions along with her, though i was never really interested in the show. Then during december, while my sister was watching cid, i joined her. It was a friday night. The kidney raquet case was being aired. That was the case that made me a cid-ian. The disguise, the suspense, the last scene where everyones running, wah! Mazaa aa gaya.
