Indian Idol Celebrates R. D. BARMAN

Indian Idol will be celebrating R D Barman's 71st birth anniversary on June 27th and gracing the occasion will be none other than Asha Bhosle, to commemorate the memory of her late husband.

The legendary singer has mixed reaction about appearing on a reality TV show. Though she is excited about being the guest of honour on the occasion of her late husband's birthday, she is not very sure about the platform reality shows offer to its contestants.

Reminiscing her beloved Pancham, her emotional post on tweeter reads, "'Indian Idol' planning a special on Pancham for his upcoming birth anniversary. I will appear on this episode. I am appearing on the show primarily because it's an episode devoted to Pancham (Barman's pet name)! He would have appeared as well and what a show that would have been."

Though we know for sure that the melody queen herself would be no less a magic, but we could agree more with Asha ji.

Asha Bhonsle, though, is apprehensive about the authenticity of these reality shows. According to her, the reality shows which lay bare all the inside dramas of human emotions basically cash in on human being's voyeuristic tendencies.

"I'm not against TV music shows. Some performers are very good but nothing seems to happen to them once the season is over. To be fair, winners of music reality shows perform many concerts and make good money but disappear the moment there's a new champion. Audiences watch the triumphs, anguish, failures and tears of contestants in reality shows. The shows appeal to human voyeurism tendency," Asha ji rued.

The Panchamda special episode, graced by Asha Bhonsle will be aired on Sony TV on the 22nd of June.
