Today, I have got a glance of very eminent anchor of yester years, Mr Sharad Dutt who anchored very popular talk show on Doordarshan 'Aap aur Ham' and inevitabely the blurred images of my olden TV days were recalled. It was the era when 'Buniyaad' and 'Hamlog' mesmerized the masses with its delicate concurrence and efficacy.

Both the soap operas told a new definition of the family values to the mass audience and explained the pros and cons of joint family architecture. Journey was moving and concurrently a saga took place that molded the entire TV viewing experience: say a very cordial thanks to Ramanand Saagar and family to present the beautiful depiction of Rama myth called Ramayana.

The very mammoth opera left the roads secluded and schedules changed. Kids, adults and senior citizens became the part of this religious extravaganza. When religion prevailed , politics invaded and some hush-hush public opinion accepted the wrapping of communal fundamentalism via blanket of Rama.

It became the time when 'Jai Shri Raam' was the louder slogan in streets and across parliament and why I should skip my favorite rhyme "Bachha bachha raam ka II Janmbhumi ke kaam ka" . And then introduced ''Mahabharata", more popular and more vindictive.

At the very infancy of the TV, Manohar Shyaam Joshi and Rahi Massom Raza were the best associates of the TV and no one at that time defined Television as an idiot box and it was given a clean chit from corrupting and deviating the society from its social dignity and added values. "The World This Week" concurred all the TRPs without any witchcraft kind breaking news. Chitrahaar, Rangoli and desi bond Vyomkesh Bakhsi became the part of my weekly schedule........
