Part 1

Pankaj tells Padma that his kid would only have his name, not Kabir's. Padma tells him to note that it's the mother who decides whose kid it is. Pankaj accuses her of taking Jyoti's side (what else do you expect, Pankaj - that she'll take yours?) She concedes that it was a mistake on her part to raise his expectations that he'd get back Jyoti, but says that she wanted the happiness of Jyoti & Pankaj. However, she sees now that the situation has changed, and where Jyoti can be truly happy. Pankaj claims that Jyoti will only be happy w/ him, the father of her child, and nobody can take his place there. Padma reminds him that it was he who kicked Jyoti out of his life - she wasn't the one who abandoned him. He only had a right to that kid as long as she was his wife, but not anymore 👏 Pankaj slams his cellphone to the floor, hurting Padma's ear 😆 (I guess that's the only way to do it, ever since the advent of cordless and cellphones, where slamming on the ear ceases to be an option 😆)

Kabir and Jyoti are in their ward, and Padma knocks & enters. Kabir offers to let Padma have a private word w/ Jyoti, while he brings the meds. Padma stops him, and tells them that she needs to talk to both of them. She tells Jyoti that she made the right decision, and that Padma accepts it. She tells Kabir that when she saw them enter hand in hand, she didn't understand it or bless them. She tells Kabir that nothing is a secret from him - she is living w/ the canard of being a step-mom (that's b'cos you are, despite being Jyoti's mausi) Therefore, she has been quite fearful recently of taking the wrong decision. Kabir tells her that when one loves one, one inevitably takes the right decision. Padma tells him that she's satisfied hearing his response, since Jyoti too has picked a similar relationship w/ him. But she's confident that he'll go above and beyond the blood ties in fulfilling his responsibilities. She says that she too had dreams for her daughter (which one, Padma?) but due to the situation, couldn't satisfy any. Kabir says that he has no concerns about Jyoti's past, and since today is day 1, today is the start. He asks Padma to tell him what dreams she had for Jyoti, and he'd fulfill them all. Padma has tears in her eyes, and Kabir tells aunty that he wants her wishlist, not her tears. Padma asks him not to address her as aunty, but as Ma (Padma, even Jyoti should address you as aunty, if you ask me, today's conversion notwithstanding) Padma hugs both of them, and then notices Jyoti's phone flash Pankaj's name (Ji is spelt correctly here 😆) Padma reminds Kabir that he was about to leave to get the meds, and asks him to arrange that Jyoti get released tomorrow like KK, so that they can all get home together.

Padma sees Jyoti's phone vibrate again, while @ the other end, Pankaj is seething @ Jyoti not picking up the phone. Padma picks up the phone and turns it off 👏, and tells Jyoti that from now on, she's not to talk to Pankaj 👏 - there is no place for him in her life. Jyoti agrees, but tells Padma that she had promised Pankaj something. Padma tells her that it was her promise, not Jyoti's, and that she didn't know then, but she knows now where Jyoti's happiness lies. She says that she'll talk to him, and that Jyoti is to only take care of herself, her baby & Kabir. She also adds that Pankaj was her past, whereas Kabir is her present & future 👏 She tells her not to make the mistake of messing up her future w/ her past. Jyoti tells her that Kabir is a friend and knows all, and Padma tells her that now, the relationship has changed. (Padma, you're not exactly one to dispense marriage advice) When a friend becomes a spouse, the expectations change. As she hugs Jyoti, Padma is worried as to what extent Pankaj will go to reclaim his baby.

Part 2

Pankaj is in his room, unhinged, throwing tantrums & breaking things, and swearing that Jyoti can't separate him from his baby. CM & Neelam are @ his door, begging him to open. CM asks a servant to break down the door. They see Pankaj about to throw a vase, and CM demands to know what he is doing. Pankaj angrily tells her that she has no right to ask him that!!! 👏 He shouts @ her to get out 👏 He tells CM that she is responsible for everything that's happened. He says that everybody took advantage of him, and cheated him. First CM, then Neelam and now Jyoti. Now she's taken his baby and gone to Kabir. But she's not the one @ fault - Pankaj blames himself for listening to CM, and didn't trust Jyoti, and today, had he not done that, his kid would have been w/ him. In this house.

Neelam comes up to him and tells him that b'cos she is here, Jyoti is not coming here. She offers to remove herself from b/w him & Jyoti, but begs him not to punish himself (No, Neelam, you're getting it wrong. Jyoti wants to be w/ Kabir - the way you can help, if you so desire, could be to ask Jyoti for Pankaj's baby & promise to care for it like it were your own) CM stares @ her, and says that nobody is going anywhere 👏 (for once, I laud CM) She tells Pankaj that there is no point in not facing the truth, which is that Jyoti has rejected him. Jyoti is punishing him for CM's crimes (since Pankaj never shielded her from you, he deserves the punishment Jyoti is giving him) She suggests that he make do w/ what they have left, and he'll be happy. She tries patting him, but Pankaj removes her hand 👏

The Sharmas return home, and Dadi & Poonam do a varan for Kabir & Jyoti. Kabir asks Dadi what she's doing, and she points out that he's now a would be damaat. Padma suggests calling Sushi & telling her, and Dadi tells her that right now, she's in no position to leave home. Poonam tells them that she's already given the news to Sushma. Padma asks Poonam to make some sweets, but Poonam tells them that since they were all out for 2 days, there's nothing in the house. Dadi suggests Jyoti to teach her, but Deepu comes to Poonam's defense and tells her that Poonam did mention it while returning, but that it was Deepu who failed to remember. Dadi points this to Kabir, and tells him that this is how to stand up for one's spouse.

Padma then asks Deepu to shop for some mithais, & Dadi asks Kabir what's his favorite. Jyoti answers, and Poonam praises her for knowing Kabir's tastes. She teases Kabir, asking him whether he knows Jyoti's? 😆 Deepu goes off.

KK then asks Kabir what he has thought, and Jyoti offers to leave the room. KK asks her why, since it's her marriage being discussed, and Padma tells him that he still doesn't understand women. She allows Jyoti to go & rest, and Poonam is very happy that KK raised the issue of marriage, and that very soon, Jyoti will be gone.

Kabir takes KK to another room, and there, KK tells him that he can speak freely. Kabir tells him that they are his elders, and whatever they decide, he'll accept. KK suggests that they meet his family, so that they can fix a mutually agreeable date for the marriage. Kabir goes silent, and KK asks him what's wrong - why did he go silent @ the mention of his family? He asks whether they'd refuse to accept Jyoti? Kabir assures him that that's not the case. KK tells him that he's the father of a girl, and so even the smallest things upset him (that's b'cos you're highly effiminate - I've seen few men like you, and most do have at least 1 daughter) KK tells Kabir that they don't know anyone in his family except him: he never talked about them, and they never asked about them. Kabir tells him that they will, and that he hadn't told them anything about this since Jyoti hadn't agreed to it in the first place (Good answer, but methinks KK's guess is right) KK seems reassured, but Kabir looks tense & worried.

Part 3

Jyoti is in her room arranging things, when she notices that her phone is off, and remembers Padma shutting it off and asking her not to talk to Pankaj. She asks herself why is she escaping - she's not the one who's done anything wrong. She picks up the phone & turns it on, and sees 5 messages. Just then, the phone rings, & it's Pankaj.

Jyoti decides that she has to talk to him, and let him know her decision. She answers and Pankaj tells her that he knows that she was unwell, which is why she had switched off her phone, right? Pankaj tells her that he wants to talk to her, and so she tells him to go ahead. Pankaj tells her that he knows her decision - she's decided to give his baby someone else's name. He begs her not to do it, and not punish him this way. He tells her that her silence tells him that she doesn't want to change her decision. Jyoti tells him that probably for the first time, she's taken a decision herself, and that she's left this relationship far behind, as has he. Their paths have diverged. Pankaj insists that they've not gone anywhere, it was just the situation, and there is still something that ties them together - their baby (so do you want the baby, Pankaj, if Jyoti doesn't come w/ it? Don't answer that!) He says that it was created by the almighty, and nobody can destroy it.

Jyoti points out that the almighty had also created their marriage, but that didn't stop it from coming apart. B'cos whenever something goes against the laws, it's end is certain. Pankaj protests and denies it, and demands a meeting w/ her. Jyoti asks him to come to her house. Pankaj refuses, saying that this was just a matter b/w them, and that when they had decided to marry, it was just the 2 of them (but Pankaj, that didn't stop you from allowing others to come in b/w the 2 of you - CM, Brij, Neelam - at that time, it was no longer just the '2 of you') He threatens her that if she doesn't come, she will regret for the rest of her life the consequences of this, and she alone will be responsible. (Is he threatening suicide, or is he threatening mafia tactics on her & her family? Incidentally, fine method of trying to convince her to return to him) Jyoti agrees, but tells him that this will be their final meeting ever (phew!!!) Pankaj thanks her, and thinks to himself that how can Jyoti make a decision about their future 😡

I never am impressed by anything Padma does, but today, for a change, she did all the right things - tell Pankaj clearly that he was the one responsible for not having his baby, and that it was up to Jyoti as to who the kid's father is. And I just loved her shutting off Jyoti's phone, and for a change, she did the right thing by forbidding Jyoti from talking to him. However, I still don't grant that she deserves to be called Ma by Kabir. In fact, I wish from day 1 that they (Jyoti & Sudha) had called her mausi. But that's just me.

And speaking of Pankaj, I loved his confrontation w/ CM today - finally reading her the riot act, and holding her responsible for him losing his baby. While CM has been despicable throughout this serial, one thing she did say that made sense - Jyoti has rejected him, and it's up to him to make do w/ what he has i.e. Neelam. And it was interesting to see Neelam offer to leave if that's what it takes for him to get back his baby. I wouldn't have minded Pankaj kicking CM out, but at this point, CM is only talking sense. I was afraid that CM would offer to contrive to get Pankaj's baby back to him, w/o Jyoti, but thankfully, she hasn't gone that route so far.

As for the meeting b/w Pankaj & Jyoti tomorrow, while she did do the right thing by telling him pointedly that this will be their last meeting (and this time, she talked to him the right way, instead of the grovelling way every occasion until now), she should have resisted his blackmail, since she holds the trump - the baby. She should have told him that since he and not she wanted this meeting, it had to be on her terms, not his, and that it had to be open, in her house. Jyoti is no longer Pankaj's wife, no matter what he thinks, and he's no longer entitled to any spousal privacy w/ her. Least Jyoti should do tomorrow in the interests of trust is take Kabir w/ her, and make it clear to Pankaj that she's not meeting him w/o Kabir, since she is now engaged to Kabir, but Pankaj is a stranger. And I hope that she leaves Pankaj high and dry. Or, contest that in court, but this time, ask Verma about Pankaj's sworn testimony, voiced by Verma himself last time, on how she had that baby a year after leaving Pankaj. Leave it to Verma/Pankaj to admit perjury, or concede that they have no claim to the baby.

KK's conversation w/ Kabir - looks like the conversation Amit had w/ him is probably hitting home. While it is in Kabir's control as to whether Jyoti's baby is accepted by him, it's not within his control as to whether her baby is accepted by his family. KK should admit that Jyoti is very lucky to get someone like Kabir, and he shouldn't make it more difficult by making it a pre-condition that Kabir's family accept her, particularly when, unlike Pankaj, Kabir is not seemingly on close terms w/ his family. Probably, this, rather than Pankaj, will be the next stumbling block in their marriage.

Why pankaj's role has turned so negative all of sudden ??????? If I am not mistaken pankaj is that person who helped jyoti in the matter of sudha and also who made uday understand that sudha is not wrong.... she is mentally ill and need's support from her loved ones at this stage .
Than why the CV's had turned pankaj's role so negative that he can do anything to get custody of that child and there brij's role has turned completely positive . What are the CV's doing with the characters????? some characters are missing some are getting negative some are getting positive !!!!!!!!

This was discussed here a few weeks ago, when Amit described to Kabir the opposition he'd face from his own family if he pursued Jyoti.

That alone seems to suggest that even though Kabir is not on good terms w/ them, some key members of his family would oppose this, and be even more distant from him as a result.

Wow it is an interesting episode but at the end Kabir's doubt for meeting his family with The Sharmas and Pankaj insistance to see jyoti .It turns around the story to another Path may be the new obstacles for Kabir and Jyoti's marrige again .By the way I enjoyed reading the update you have done a great job as usual .thanks I waited to read it for more than two,three hours.

Unlike the Vashists, even though Kabir is a fictional character, the family is real (the dynasty that included Rajput heroes like Rana Pratap(!), Rana Kumbha, etc), so I really hope that this ends up as a false alarm and there are no Bhairavi like negative characters in this family as depicted here. It would be disgusting to see a real family like this shown in such a bad light, even if it is a fictional show.

thanx vrisha..seriously liked padma today...she did everything correct today regarding pankaj..tho she shud have warned jyoti AND kabir abt pankaj and thn let them handle the situation..and yes,defo jyoti shud atleast take kabir along wid her to meet pankaj if not make him come to her house..tht guy deserves no leeway in this scenario..y on earth shud HE be dictating what jyoti shud do or not..and come on,jyoti CANT do this,CANT do tht???who is he to decide?obama??i think the creatives have conveniently forgotten abt the affidavit...so as to stretch the custody track for months..
