As the new gang joins the old students of Miley Jab Hum Tum (MJHT), we expect the fun quotient to rise on the show. Rohan, Riya, Ash and Nirbhay have joined Excel College. Like Samrat, Mayank and Gunjan, the foursome wants to be loved by the loyal viewers. Read on as she talks to us about the show, its USP and her new college mates at Excel.
From a youth based reality show Splitsvilla to a youth based fiction MJHT. How does it feel?
I feel fortunate to be a part of MJHT; a youth based show which is immensely popular. It is great to be featured in a youth based show but I am open to all kind of roles because as an actor you need to essay every character that comes your way.
You were busy breaking hearts and finding your true mate on Splitsvilla, How is Riya going to be on MJHT?
Riya is sweet and innocent. She doesn't care much what people have to think about her but is an attention seeker. She flaunts the right kind of attitude and is the style icon of the college.
How are you getting along with the cast of MJHT – both the seniors and new ones?
I get along extremely well with the new cast as we have joined the show at the same time. Talking about the senior cast, they all are extremely friendly, caring and warm towards me. The entire crew is extremely caring and hospitable.
You are playing sister to Rohan on the show. How is your relationship with him off screen?
It's not just him but all four of us gel well. When we are not shooting, we spend time chatting and try to get along so that we get to know each other well.
Rohan and Nirbhay can't see eye to eye with each other and they are gearing up for a boxing match. This boxing match is going to be extremely interesting as we have two good looking guys with great physique battling it out in the boxing rung for me. Nirbhay is fighting my brother as he wants me to lose.
There was a boxing match even in your previous reality show. Did it give you a feeling of nostalgia?
Ah! I had so many guys fighting for me, so it indeed was a walk down memory lane. It's like the reality being transformed into a fiction drama keeping me in mind.
Have you been following the MJHT? Who happens to be your favourite from the original cast of the show?
Yes, I am a huge fan of MJHT and Samrat is my most favourite character.
What's the best part of MJHT?
The best part is the show's focus on college life. They are portraying it in a very light and fun manner. It's like your rewinding your youth and your college days comes springing back to life.
How similar are you to Riya?
I think I am very similar to Riya as even I was a style icon during my college days.
Tell us about your look on the show?
My look is very western and Riya can be seen experimenting with it on the show. She is inspired by Paris Hilton and loves to accessorize herself.
Tell us about your college days. Did you have guys chasing you?
I had lots guys chasing me and used to get loaded with flowers during Valentines Day. I was crowned Miss I.H.M (Institute of Hotel Management, Chandigarh), Miss Style Icon and Miss Beautiful during my college. It's more or less like reliving my college days. I was quite a style statement even then. – Need this in the intro, adds to the character. Also send as kriti trivia for fan club
What's the weirdest thing that you have done during your college days?
It wouldn't be right on your part to ask me to mention just one thing here as I was a prankster during my college days. I always was busy playing pranks on others but nobody would say a word to me as I was academically bright. I had taken full advantage of it.
Have you ever been at the receiving end of your seniors and faced ragging during your college days?
In fact, I loved the ragging part of my college. My seniors tried to avoid me as I always ready to get ragged by them. I would do whatever they asked me to. Later, they realized that I am not intimidated with their ragging rather I enjoy it.
Which is that one character on season 1 MJHT who you think is similar to Riya?
I think I am a mix of Nupur and Diya. Nupur was a chatterbox but at the same time was intelligent and had a unique sense of styling herself and Diya was the style icon. I was told that my character is going to be a mix of Nupur and Diya while I was offered the role.
Samrat, Mayank and Gunjan are immensely popular and have a huge fan-following. What do you think Riya needs to equal them?
I hope I manage to impress the audience with my acting and earn a place for myself in their hearts. I want people to connect with my character as there is a style icon in every college. This is my first fiction ever and I really want people to like me.
