As long as u follow these, you should be fine, Yes, some do follow these, but then after sometime it happends that that person is no longer interested inthat show or suddenly end up being busy with other commitments. 😛 I feel that they cannot choose a Viewbie or Mod for any new sections straightaway because somepeople like the show in the beginning but after a week or so they are no longer interested, So they probably wait a month or so to see if anyone is committed to the forum and is willing to take the responsibilty.

Where your complaint on Inactive Mods, It does take sometime mods to reply back, but no matter how long it takes they should reply you with further informations. honestly speaking, As far i am aware, the moderating team is looking into this issues.

I have attempted to explain some here, with the information I know, Even thought am not a Viewbie or Moderator, I am still part of I-F Team, therefore, we hope to come up with the better solution soon 😉

Although you may not see it, it happens. The DT don't necessarily have to post to be active, the main thing is- is the forum clean? Is it organized? All these things happen behind the scenes.

I agree to the majority of what you have written😊 But the problem I face is the inactivity of moderators of those particular sections. Couple of times that I have reported offending posts on popular forums, have never been attended to until the next day. By that time a lot of name calling, personal attacks have already taken place. Many times the sticky topics remain stickied for many days and all main topics of discussions spill to the consecutive pages😕. Thus making the forum look cluttered up. I do believe that mods/viewbies appointed for that particular section atleast need to be active😕

Indian idol forum where I am currently participating, has only the CM who is active and sometimes Priya makes time. But there are still some names of inactive DT on the forum. So in case issues arise, I either have to write to Nadii or Priya. so it will be great to have an active DT on that forum👍🏼

I've noticed that once i became a mod, i became LESS active in discussions. I spend hours on IF sometimes yet at times i dont post anything in my section even though i was in that section for the majority of the time.
I had to read tons of reports, read through numerous problem threads and thus never got time to actively participate. It may seem easy to post up things like Member Awards, but OMG its super hard. Most of the planning had to be done outside of the section.

I know all that has happened several times in my section (the sticky thing only a few times). I know this is repetitive, but no mod is on IF 24/7. I have often had to deal with issues/reports a day after it has happened because i was not online when it was going on. I dont have psychic abilities that allow me to know when attacks are being made on IF 😆. And closing the topics or warning people does not stop the attacks. People continue to do what they were doing before. Sure, it might stop further attacks but thats not a guarantee.

What will happen if the mod is currently online? DID season 1, Raksha di would close the attack threads and the member would open up a new one. And this continued for a loooong time.


Another factor that delays action being taken would be the number of DT in the section who are actively working.

Many times the sticky topics remain stickied for many days and all main topics of discussions spill to the consecutive pages😕---Sometimes there are just too many important things that need to be stickied. Usually for me its about the updates. I forget to take down the previous week's updates and the videobie posts new update videos and the page gets filled up. Since its a reality show, there's 4 sticky's there most of the time. 2 written updates/ 2 video updates. And then there's GOTW, DOTW, and other important announcements like Spoilers or birthday messages.



Idk...all i know for a fact is that i spend A LOT of time on IF. Even if people dont see it.
I wish i didnt spend so much time here, but i do.

Jess sweetheart! I never meant to point fingers at anyone in particular. I also dont think that it is practical for ANYONE to be online 24/7. Moderators/Viewbies do a lot of work. I know you gave it all in DID section😳 I was not talking about DID section here.

My opinion is that there could be more than 1 viewbie/moderator for each section. That way a lot of work can get divided between mods and you guys can also find time to participate on the forum😃

Again, I am not talking about your section but some sections that do not have moderators/viewbies such as shows on NDTV-Imagine. And some section which just have the Channel Moderator but no viewbie/mod.

You should go and have a peek at some of the sections on NDTV. Sorry to say but it is in a bad shape😕 I watch a lot of shows on that channel. But the forum is not organized like the other sections. It will be great if someone looked into that😊

I do agree with what you say, and i also think that there NEEDS to be more than one DT member. It gets really hard to work by yourself sometimes!

I'll check out the section(s) and maybe bring it up among other mods who participate in those sections. =]
