Well, its been 4 years on IF... for me...

and ive been noticing this for a while now...

Ive very rarely seen Mods/Viewbies being selected on merit or for the hardwork theyre doing, theyre selected on what basis NOW, am not really sure!

If an already part of DT member posts just a single thing on a forum.. he or she is promoted to being the MOD.. and that HAS been happening from years now,,,

Though, new sections like Aahat, JPSYA, etc. have newly promoted viewbies.. otherwise, for shows like Bhaskar Bharti, Kitani Mohabbat hai. Pavitra Rishta.. it wasnt seen who worked hard for the forums, to maintain them and get them to being active, but the other way round!

I know NEW members cant always be promoted, but atleast the Viewbie/Mod of the section should be a little active enough on that section naa?

If my point is not valid, Please ignore, and lock it...

But i really want an answer...

I can seriously name people who are still Mods/Viewbies and are NOT on IF A TALL... let alone being Slightly Inactive

Theyve left IF way before, and still they have the responsibilty of the forums, and everytime we've something to do on the thread, we need to PM a GM/ADMIN because, the MODs dont have time to respond!

And thats because theyre INACTIVE!

Many people in the DT is not advisable, but i think replacing them wont be much of a heck, instead better for u .. for us.. for IF!

Ive been working really hard on certain forums.. and i dont even demand a payback! i just want others and u guys to come up and atleast bring this thing to ur notice!

All-in-all:

Please, just see that we either bring the MODs/Viewbies of the

Sports/Cricket Section

Member's Lounge Section

Karam Apna Apna Section

Pakistani Entertainment Section

(to name a few) bACKK... Or replace them with someone better!

And Please, dont take a long time in selecting Mods for the new sections that get added because u need a MOD in new sections very direly as new ppl come up and theres loads of commotion!

Recently, Sony and NDTV Imagine have been updated with shows like GodBharaai and Kashi and Geet...

I hope we get responsible MODs (Like most on IF) there aswell!

Hey, Though am not part of the moderating team, I have learnt a lot from my friends who are in the team. They have guided me with a lot of things, honestly speaking, I used to think the same. Yes, in certain forums maybe there were some deserving ones who i think should have gotten the forum but it's up to admin and global mods to choose, We don't know what discussion takes place behind the curtains, do we? We are given a simple instruction, be active, post healthy discussions, help keeping the forum in a nice atmosphere, 😛
As long as u follow these, you should be fine, Yes, some do follow these, but then after sometime it happends that that person is no longer interested inthat show or suddenly end up being busy with other commitments. 😛 I feel that they cannot choose a Viewbie or Mod for any new sections straightaway because somepeople like the show in the beginning but after a week or so they are no longer interested, So they probably wait a month or so to see if anyone is committed to the forum and is willing to take the responsibilty.

Where your complaint on Inactive Mods, It does take sometime mods to reply back, but no matter how long it takes they should reply you with further informations. honestly speaking, As far i am aware, the moderating team is looking into this issues.

I have attempted to explain some here, with the information I know, Even thought am not a Viewbie or Moderator, I am still part of I-F Team, therefore, we hope to come up with the better solution soon 😉

If you are ever dissapointed, Just drop a PM to Priya Di, Any Global Mod or maybe Vijay 😃

We're currently working hard to rebuilt the Dev. Team but it takes a while. We've done a lot of fixing up, and like mentioned above, it's not always about how active you are. For every forum, there's a tremendous amount of work that goes on behind the scenes.

Although you may not see it, it happens. The DT don't necessarily have to post to be active, the main thing is- is the forum clean? Is it organized? All these things happen behind the scenes.

But some forums do have inactive DT, and I'm glad you've brought that to notice. Something will be done, hopefully.

IF is rebuilting now, Well from the past few months we are working on it. Priya have taken charge for the promotion issues. I agree some of the members who works alot for some forum doesnt get promoted at time as before promotions were done like how some one do job for the forum but they left out in between. So, from seeing that now DT is being choosen by their work which they have done in the past, as some new people are just interested in the title and not in the activites. Some members are more deserving and i would like to tell them to contact Priya or any of the GM for the promotion I am sure she wont let you disspointed. 😃 But, Like how you told the members who arent doing anything and still promoted thats wrong some of the DTs are working behind in every section..😳

I agree with the topic starter and thats wat i am upset about !! Even i have worked hard for my section TMKOC, not only do i post updates but also see to it that , things are well organised in the forum. And i am not doing it for 1 or 2 months but for more than 9 months , but i was promoted as a coolbie for the section. I felt bad though that all my work for the section was neglected . But anyways I am ok with it as this is the only show which brings smile on my face and tells me not to take anything in a bad stride !!!😊

Ishan, if you feel that you deserve the promotion, then GO FOR IT! Sometimes, potential isn't seen until it is pointed out, and sometimes, you need to take that step yourself.

PM the CM of the channel and tell them why you think you deserve this. Who knows, maybe you'll get what you deserve ;)

^Sab Channel do not have any Channel Moderators, The show forums don't even have any mods either! well most of them don't!

I think that's being looked upon. If not the CMs, admins or the DT of the section you're interested in are there to help you. :)

I have already told everyone its impossible for a Gm or admin to look into every section so pm Priya she is seeing about the promotions and who are working hard from the past 1 year she would definitly consider them. Even i got promoted after 2-3 years...

^Thank You ALL very much for the response! Well, it wasnt about "MY" Promotion... It was about many people whom i feel worked hard, who should have gotten promoted... IF NOT, no problems, but atlease, the ones who LEFT IF, their names should've atleast gone into the x-Member's List naa?? Thats not Rude.. is it? If theyre not doing nothing, theres NO POINT in having "Moderator" or "Viewbie" OR any acess right legend under their usernames! Its wastage of DT positions! I am really glad u guys took my point in a +ve way though! 😃 id like Priya dii too commenting heree... Ive been talking to her on many other things and gossips, but this :P 😛 LOL anyways... Thnx again people! <3
