With mom around, the world lights up but at times mom's can be extremely embarrassing as well. Something similar happened when Farah Khan's mom - Meneka and her aunt Daisy Irani walked into the sets of DID L'il Masters to give her a special surprise. Since this was a Farah khan special episode, the kids had prepared all Farah Khan choreographed numbers. The ace choreographer was totally delighted to see a completely new and innovative choreography on the songs originally done by her.
Meneka aunty told the kids that Farah's actual name was Farahdeeba Khan and how she used to get extremely cheesed off when kids in school used to call 'dibba'. "I used to get so irritated that one day I decided to drop Deeba from my name and changed it to Farah alone," gushed Farah.
Everybody is familiar with Farah's rough and tough image but she is a real softie at heart confessed her aunt Daisy. Here's one incident that Daisy aunty narrated, "Every year in hotel Sea Rock Mumbai there used to be a dance competition. The year she won, the prize money was two tickets to Mauritius. Farah asked her mom who used to work in the same hotel to sell off the tickets to someone else and utilize that money to get some repair job done at home.
"She has always taken care of the family and put her family's needs before her own," said Meneka aunty. "Those days contact lenses were in vogue and I wanted to own one. It used to cost Rs 800 then. For us Rs. 800 was a lot of money that time. Farah took up a small job, did some survey for some oil brand and earned Rs 800 to buy me contact lenses."
"We all expected Farah would do well in life, but Sajid becoming successful was a shock for all of us." cracked up Meneka aunty. "Sajid used to say one day I'll drive a merc and we used to tell him yeah... you will drive Dharamji's merc!"
She also disclosed how after Saroj Khan quit Mansoor Khan's 'o Jeeta Wohi Sikandar' that Farah got a chance to showcase her skills as a choreographer. "The actors in the movie used to come to me at night to learn the steps as they were extremely petrified of Saroj Khan," says Farah.
When Mansoor got a wind of this, he made Farah the official choreographer of the movie and she got to do the romantic number Pehla Nasha...
