Part 1 Starts wid Sumitra askin Masa to stand in front of da mirror & see if she can meet herself in da eye. Masa is super shocked. Sumitra is bout to break down,bt she controls herself & goes away. Masa says did u see how she talked?My son insulted me in front of evry1 n now dis.. She says I do so much for dem & dis is wot I get in return. Anandi is sitting beside Jagya(who is fast asleep). She luks at him.
'Choti si umar' song plays in da background,while Anandi recalls a few incidents lyk her & Jagya's pheras,JaAn in da village fair,Anandi covering her head widda chunar,which Jagya had gifted her,etc.
She notices dat da gal is also sleeping,wid her head restingon a bench.
Part 2
Bhago & Krishna r crying.😭
Krishna hugs her & comforts her.
Govind is also standing der,lost in thoughts.
Khajan seems v. angry.
Bhairon is standing in da balcony.
Sumitra cms der,bt he doesnt acknowledge her presence.
Den she keeps her hand on his.
He looks her,dejectedly.(superb acting by both Anoop & Smita!👏)
Shyam is sitting on da stairs in da verandah.
He is quite tensed & der r tears in his eyes.
He wipes his tears & luks angry.
Masa is standing near da door of der class/room.
She luks sad.
Teepri & Bhavri r inside da room.
Teepri notices Masa standin der & wonders if she shud talk 2 her or not.
Part 3
Anandi is still awake.
Its quite windy.
Jagya moves a little.
She realizes dat he is feeling cold.
So she covers him wid a blanket.
Da gal also moves a little.
So Anandi goes up to her wid a blanket & covers her as well.
Anandi has tears in her eyes.
Her eyes fall on to the window.
She goes upto da window & sees da moon.
Her eyes r still moist.
Part 4
Da next morning....
Da whole village has assembled for da mahapanchayat.
Masa,Bhairon,Shyam & Sumitra r waitin 4 da proceedings to start.
One old man says dis mahapanchayat,comprising da Sarpanch of 25 villages,has been organized bcoz da ppl associated wid dis grave situatn belong to 3 different villages.
He says:Main Ishwar se prarthna karta hoon ki Wo in Panchon me aakar biraje aur inse sahi nyaya karaye.
Khajan nods,Masa prays,Bhairon's face is expressionless,Maan Singh's wife is also prayin.
Da sarpanchjis sit down,followed by da rest of da ppl.
Dat man says da main sarpanchjis r from Jetsar,Bilaria,Taanta(da gal's village) n 2 odr villages' sarpanch.
Part 5
Dat man tells Maan Singh dat he has been given da chance to talk first.
He says now u can start.
And dat man also goes n sits amongst da sarpanchs.
Maan Singh folds his hands n says sm days back Majisa Kalyani Devi came to my houz & selected my daughter for her grandson.
She gave us da shagun der itself & da marriage was fixed on da spot.
Dey came here last evening & my daughter got married to her grandson in front of da whole village.
Den suddenly da groom's father came & said dat he wl not accept dis wedding.
Maan Singh's wife starts crying.
He says how can dey say lyk dat,Hukum?Is dis a joke?Smone fixes da marriage,sm1 else breaks it.
Once if a marriage breaks apart,den da girl's father has a hard tym finding another boy for his daughter.
He says now if dese ppl do not accept my daughter,eidr she(his wife) wil tk poison or I wil.
Bhairon says dat I've already explained it to u,my son is married.Now while da first wife is der,how can v accept another wife for him?
Maan Singh is in tears.
Da sarpanch of Maan Singh's village tells Bhairon dat ur mother had herself gone 2 der place to fix da marriage.
Bhairon says dat I never knew wen Masa went to der houz & fixed da marriage.
Had I known dis b4,I wud hav never let dis happen.
Part 6
Da sarpanchjis r discussing amongst demselves.
Den da old one who was speaking b4 asks Maan Singh if he knew dat Jagya was already married?
He says I knew,bt I agreed bcoz Majisa told us dat der bheendni is mad,so she wants to get him married again.
Khajan says nothing has happened to my laado!😡
He asks da sarpanchji to bring gals from der respective villages n hav a competition between all of dem,including Anandi.
He says den u'll see dat no one wil b able 2 win against her.👏
Bhairon joins his hands & says dat der is nothing lacking in Anandi,dis is a lie!👏
Da sarpanchjis start der discussion again.
Bhairon asks Maan Singh how he agreed for da marriage widout meeting da groom's parents?
Maan Singh replies dat he had asked Majisa bout it,but she told him dat since da parents r in Calcutta,dey wil not b able 2 participate in da wedding.
Masa says wow,chori's father!U put da entire blame on me!😡
She says u only chose da wedding day as akha teej since u wer in a hurry to marry off ur daughter coz of ur ailing mother.
So she says hw cud I hav got da tym 2 convince my fmly?
Bhairon says wot do u think Masa?Had u got enough tym at hand,u wud hav convinced us for da wedding?U cud not recognize ur son,despite being a mother.
Masa says no,no,I recognized u!After wot u've done wid Jagdish,I know u v.well!
Teepri luks angry.
Masa says u dnt care at all bout ur son's future.U never thought who wil luk after him after we pass away?
She shouts dat I cannot withstand all dis!Had u got sm brains in ur head,u wud hav also done da same!😡
Bhairon shouts enough now,Masa!Under da cover of thinkin for his future,u cannot hide ur sin.Atleast stop now!👏
A sarpanch says dat u all wil b given a chance to speak.Now plz do not interrpt da proceedings coz of ur personal grudges against each odr.
Part 7
Khajan says y r u givin dem a chance to speak,Hukum?Da injustice has been done against me & my daughter.
He says:Bihaa kar laye the je mhari chori ko,koi bhaga kar na laye,k usse uska haq cheen rahe hain je log!
He says dey hav spoilt her life.
Maan Singh says my daughter's life has been spoilt,inspite of havin sindoor on her forehead,she wil hav 2 stay lyk a 'kumari'.
Bhairon now looses his cool completely.
He shouts u shud hav thought bout dis b4,hw cud u simply agree to da proposal widout enquiring bout da groom or his family?
Maan Singh:Ek to chori ka baap,doosra gareeb.Jiske sar ye do shraap ho wo to use jaldi se jaldi taal ne ka sochega hi naa Bhairon sa...
Bhairon & Teepri luk annoyed.
He says wen I got da proposal frm sucha nice fmly,I was obviously happy & did not refuse.
he adds dat he had been told da girl is not capable of handling da houz,she is mad.
Khajan grabs his collar n says I told u my daughter is alright,den y r u still muttering dis nonsense?
Bhairon,Shyam n another man separate him from Maan Singh.
Bilaria's sarpanch scolds him n says dat u shud stay in ur limits.Wotever b da decision, only da sarpanchjis hav da right to tk it.
Part 8
Da sarpanch of Maan Singh's village says if der is indeed sm problem wid da first bheendni,den v also cannot oppose da second wedding.😲
Khajan & Bhairon r shocked.
One sarpanch says dat u r absolutely right!
He adds if da gal is not fit to handle da houz,den v cannot say dat Maan Singh & Majisa r wrong.
SumiRon,Teepri & Khajan luk tensed.
Da sarpanch says dat v mst clear all da doubts here itself,in front of evry1.We wil hav 2 call da bheendni here & check her mental status.
Bhairon says da kids r still in da school.All dese things wil hav a bad effect on dem which is y I told dem to stay der itself.
Da sarpanch says luk Bhairon sa,till ur son's bheendni cms here & v check her,hw wil v cm 2 a decision?
Da sarpanchjis again start der discussion.
Da villagers are also talking amongst demselves.
Part 9
Bhairon asks Sumitra to fetch Anandi.
After she leaves,Masa says if u wanna call her jst for ur satisfaction,u can do so.
Anyways,r Jetsar's sarpanchsa sitting over der mst hav already heard bout her mental conditn frm da villagers.😡
Sarpanchji says yes Majisa bt dis is a mahapanchayat.It wil not believe u & me,it wil only believe wot is sees.Hence v wil hav 2 call her.👏
Masa folds her hands & says:Jaisi Panchon ki aagyaa!🥱
Den she says call her.Once evry1 sees my 'majboori',atleast den no1 wil point a finger at me.
Bhairon is upset at dat remark.
Moral:After child marriage,if der is a problem in da life of either da husband or the wife,due to some mishap,den to ignore his/her sacrifice & decide to get da other half remarried is injustice & totally unacceptable.
Precap:Da sarpanch of Maan Singh's village asks a man to ask Anandi sm questions which wud prove whether she is ill or fit.
He asks her which place does she belong to?
Bhago is tensed.
Da Sarpanchjis r keenly observing her.
Anandi doesnt say anythin.😲
Bhairon says say na beta,u know da answer.U knw everythin,jst speak up.
He keeps sayin:Bol....bol na beta... while Anandi keeps crying.
