Friends,
Haven't you noticed... the winners of Indian Idol have never made it big.. e.g. Antara, Chang, Monali, Rahul ..... each of them are better off than the winners of the respective Indian Idol... They are all lost. In fact, except Abhijit (since he was the first one!!) - no one even remembers the other 3 - tell me who are those again.. Sandeep?? Who one II 3 and who won II4?? Do you remember..
Isn't it winner's curse!! So contenstents take a sigh of relief... it doesn't matter if you win or not.. if you get noticed. .you will make it.. In fact, when you win.. there is so much hype going on and also the music industry anyway thinks that Junta doesn't vote for good singers - so they know the winner is not the best singer... they look for someone who is not a winner, but a good singer (like Vishwas or for that matter Shivam too)..
Pray to loose the competition, but win the heart of the people (specially of those who are in music industry).. Right??
What say... 😉 😉 😉

Absolutely right... apart from the Abhijit Sawant none of the winners have made a place in the music industry. It's singers like Monali, Antara,Chang, Rahul who have outshone everyone and has made a name for themselves in the industry.

So it is true that the winner does not take it all. All the contestants should work hard and be determined cause success will be coming their way.

hahahaa...😆😆😆,,, well said sme...

but why blame and hide behind a curse? its the ppl who vote are the problem here...

even for that matter when abhijit was first indian idol, every one thought amit sana and rahul vaidya deserved it more.. but only sheer determination and hard work got abhijeet his rewards..

Karunya is a huge success in telugu film industry.. he already sung 74 songs in telugu.. infact he was the first person from II2 to sing for hindi film.. aane chaarane song for lage raho munna bhai..

same credit will go to monali thakur.. she has shined more than any one from II2 in bollywood.. next best after monali's success is Antara's.. she already did playback singing for atleast to 6 songs.. but her main credit will be this coming movie.. rajneeti.. beautifully sung...

chang is a determined hardworker.. before this movie, he was part of a II3 boys band.. and pretty successful one too.. he was also a host for many shows before he got this movie..

when sandeep become II2.... there were many more deserving contestants present ... Amey Date.. he really performed so well in music ka maha muqhabla..
Karunya, monali, meenal.. to name a few..

So by just saying that its a winner's curse... we are comparing good with bad..

History will repeat and Sreeram won't win...As we all know he already is successful where he comes from and has potential to even go faaaar....And by the II history 3 out of 4 winners have disappeared in thin air...and Sreeram is not the loser type...so My intelligence tells me Sreeram won't be the winner...Some mediocre will win and disappear in thin air...

Sreeram wins or loses, he deserves to get work in future.

Call it a winner's curse but still everyone wants to be Indian Idol.

But now I feel things are different with the bringing up of the chance to sing in a Yashraj Movie. I think no one would like to leave the competition, just based on this assumption that they will turn out to be more successful than the winner. Success in the music industry depends a lot on luck as well, along with your devotion for struggle. If a person continues to do that, he can achieve a good status in the industry. Nothing is impossible.

i think it's more to do with determination...

i saw amit sana in another competition... i can't recall the name now... but rahul vaidya and abhijit also participated... you could tell that amit has stopped focusing on his riyaaz... so it depends a lot on the person too... if you are determined, then eventually you will succeed... :)

the winners have been so mediocre (apart from abhijeet), so it's hardly surprising that they were not able to make it big...

i can only hope that this year, we get a deserving winner....! :)

Hmmmm...I agree with your statement.....continuous hardwork and devotion will pay off at some point.
Yashraj movies are not what they used to be....but then like everything else....results, voting, winning or losing is all based on asumptions....😕
