May 31, 2010 Written Update
All are shocked to see an old, balding man at the doorđ. Poonam starts welcoming him when KK interrupts, asking if this was the rishta they brought for Jyoti. The husband and wife smile and say yes, and the husband says that he's brought the rishta of his brother. KK says that he is old enough to be Jyoti's father and he cannot accept this proposal. The couple gets angry and the husband says that he agrees that his brother is a little older, but he is doing a great thing by accepting someone as characterless as Jyoti. KK lashes out at him for calling Jyoti such things. Sushma hears all this, as she is still on the phone with Padma. Padma hangs up and the couple and the old guy leave. KK and Dadi ask Poonam if she knew this was who the proposal was from. She says yes and asks them how they can expect more since no one would be willing to accept someone else's child. Poonam asks how they can scream at her when they were the ones who wanted to marry Jyoti off quickly. She leaves. Jyoti says that she never realized how much of a burden she was to them. Padma assures Jyoti that it's not like that and they are looking out for her future. Jyoti sarcastically says that she understands and leaves. Kabir asks if it's ok if he goes to convince Jyoti.
At Sushma's house, Brij is feeling guilty for being the cause of Jyoti's plight. He leaves, thinking to fix the wrong he's done. Sushma tries going with him, but he refuses. He reaches Pankaj's house, while Pankaj is just leaving in his car. He stands in the way and the car stops.
Later, Kabir and Jyoti are at the same temple while Jyoti is still thinking of the insults thrown her way by the couple earlier. When Kabir brings up the topic of marriage, Jyoti clearly tells him that she's learned a lot from her past relationship and now she knows not to trust anyone but herself. Kabir tells her that he knows for a fact that Jyoti would be very happy with him. Jyoti tells him that she doesn't need a man for support and that its better their relationship stays as friendship. She says that she wants to work and support herself. End.
