In real life, as much as i hate to admit this, the good looking, nice guys end up with the hot girls even those so called "hot" girls have a not so great personality..I mean the world is superficial and lets just admit it u know..However there are some cases where a guy falls for a girl because he is totally in love with her personality and who she is or even vice versa and this usually happens when the guy has the chance to know the girl really well and understand her..And i really don't think any of the guys in this case had a chance to totally know who Mahi is.
I am a normal/average size woman with a bit of dusky complexion so I am not the conventional indian fair skinny woman and its a different story on how i truly wish to see a normal woman on tv who is more focused on her career and who wnats a guy but is not too desperate about it that it takes over her life..
I think the main thing is just to be comfortable and accepting of who you are..

You state a good point here, why can't we have show about women empowerment, why not have a show about young confident women making a difference in the work force and does not give a rat's #$% to finding a man to feel "complete". I was hoping that Mahi Way would be one such show where a girl is ambitious to have a career in spite of the social stigma she has to withstand by being obese! I guess we are asking for too much here!

And another thing, I hate to be all preachy and sound like a self help book but the conventional Indian beauty is a myth, women are real like us, with some flesh, color and bones on them in spite what the media and glamour industry would want us to believe!

i totally agree wid all of u here n just want to add something more to it. Although, i m not real life Mahi ,( not roshini as well) even for girls of size zero there r no real ISHAAN n SHIV. Such perfection in a personality is a myth, onlya work of imagination n not a true picture of human or MEN.

True perfection is a myth, and Ishaan is far from perfect and we know very little about Shiv to give him the "perfect" tag. Also what might be "perfect" for me might not cut the bill for you and vice a versa for me. What I meant was that size zero women have more choice in choosing their mate, the seem to attract the cream of the crop (for a lack of a better phrase...lol) Sadly enough in our society, and I am here generalizing here, a girl could be a dim wit with no brains, but if she is thin, tall and fair..her chance of finding her "perfect" man is way higher than a dusky intelligent or an obese intelligent girl.
What they are attempting to show in Mahi Way currently is highly unrealistic or it's just me being way too pessimistic about things!

Somehow i cannot stop commenting on this subject. And let me tell you, you are not being too pessimistic, The show is unrealistic in the present portrayal of Mahi and society does favor the so called "good looking" people and as much as i hate to say this, its more prominent in our indian society/culture..And its better to deal with it then live in this lala land thinking that your prince charming is just right around the corner waiting for you (which i think Mahi does a lot).. And in your prev comment, you said, that indian women are like us with meat and bones and color, i totally agree but the funny thing is somehow every indian aunty out there does not seem to realize this. Seriously i can go on and on about this, about the superficiality of our society but i rather end on a happy note and say..hey you know what, society can do whatever they want, they can favor and praise the skinny, tall and fair woman who will also end up with a "perfect" man..
In the end, as long as Normal women like us achieve our dreams, our ambitions and somewhere along the way find a decent guy who can be happy with us..And if the last part does not come true, hey at least we have achieved our dreams right :)
God now i sound like self help book..:( hehehe i do have a tendency to become like that when i ramble on and on..hehe

@Topic starter..OMG! You brought tears in my eyes, gal😭 I'm so with you on this but just answer my one question...is it not believed that love is blind?cann't people like Ishaan fall for a girl like Mahi,if so why?....when it's love it just doesn't see anything the ONLY thing that matters is love...though I fully agree to what you said but Mahi has good features she looks good to me and just coz she is size 18 she doesn't desrve a good guy like Ishaan or Shiv doesn't realy make sense to me(no offense)... People can either love a gal with size 18:)
