"Oye, where is my eyeliner? I can't go on stage with my eyes looking like this!", "Is my hair gelled properly?," "Excuse me, can I pleeease have a glass of lukewarm water for gargling?" The aforementioned are some of the things one gets to hear backstage on Indian Idol 2. And things often get amusing as contestants gear up for the show. With six contestants, Amey, Karunya, Anuj, Meenal, Antara and Sandeep, left in the fray, they are now more of a close-knit group of friends than competitors. "After coming so far in the show, it's almost like all of us are winners. Now it's like we losing a family member every Tuesday, when the results are announced," says Antara. Karunya and Amey, the "dudes" of the show keep comparing notes on their looks. "Amey is on the same wavelength as me," says Karunya, who doesn't step on the stage without his "goodluck" bite of chocolate.
"Mama's boy" Amey feels happy on seeing a smile on his his mother's face, when he performs. The only two girls left on the show, Antara and Meenal, enjoy their girl- talk sessions after the shoots. Sandeep, who practices regularly says: "I was touched when I heard about banners in my hometown, hailing me as 'Bikaner's Idol'." Anuj too is happy with the judges' verdict that he is at par with the other contestants.
