Welcome to this weeks Discussion of the Week! šŸ˜›

And i stole the title of our DOTW from CNN 😳 šŸ˜†

So recently in the news (in U.S) this video has been getting really popular...

Are these 8 year old girls too sexy, too soon?

There's no doubt that these girls are AMAZING...but is it too soon for them to be dancing like this?

There are some that disagree saying that there was nothing provocative about the dance
'Single Ladies' Girls did "Nothing Provocative"

My problem with this performance is not the routine or the song. Single Ladies is a pretty clean song, with a clean music video that does not resort to the sluttiness of some videos. Moreover, these girls had high energy and did some amazing moves. They should get a huge round of applause and their parents ought to be proud.

But what is with the outfits? No I'm not against little girls wearing shorts and sports tops. I hate to say it these outfits look like ones of hookers or strippers. Definitely not the kind of clothes little kids should be wearing. A poor wardrobe choice in this case makes what could have been a fun routine into an erm whats going on here....

These little girls are doing great and having fun, perhaps the outfits should have reflected that instead.

I think most people paid attention to the wardrobe rather than the overall dance, and that affected their view of the entire performance.

I mean, i doubt these girls know what they are doing.
One big topic of discussion in the news is that the moves were inappropriate...gyrating and all that.

Even the dancers in the original video wore more clothes than this.

I saw this video in my friends FB feed

the song is fine.... the gyrations were there a little too much...the costumes were unforgivable

why are kids forced to grow up so soon...

Look at the Youtube comments for this video...most youtube comments are trash but I think they asked for it..

costume is an essential part of the act jess..it can make it or break it..this was a disaster

I think if they wore better clothes, it wouldnt have been so bad.
And you're right, Beyonce was more covered up than these girls šŸ˜†

But then again, nothing was wrong with the performance...just the clothes.

yeah I think the clothes made an effect on the performance. When kids dance, they dance for fun and don't care about how they dance while when you get older, it's a different thing
