MUMBAI: The musical journey of 'Raajneeti' that was kicked off with the Mirchi music premier in Mumbai continued with a hot tte--tte with Dilliwallas at the Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM studios. 'Arjun Rampal takes Ranbir Kapoor as a younger brother', 'Katrina plays simple college educated girl who does not know what's coming next' and 'Ranbir plays a grey character who gets stuck in the world of politics'..... all this and much more was unveiled on Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM when the star cast of the upcoming political thriller 'Raajneeti' comprising Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Manoj Bajpai and Arjun Rampal along with Director Prakash Jha visited the studio. And while at the hottest Radio station in the metro in the peak of summer, the stars could feel the heat....literally! Ranbir commented about how he could feel his skin peeling away! On a similar note when Manoj Bajpai commented on Delhi's scorching heat, Prakash Jha the mastermind behind magnum opus wittily said, "We are at the hottest radio station in Delhi – Radio Mirchi 98.3FM so why will we not feel hot". The gang was welcomed by 'Radio ke Virus'- RJ Anant and Saurav and RJ Stutee and in the midst of pulling each others legs and teasing each other about pretty much everything, they shared interesting anecdotes from the film and treated Mirchi listeners to exclusive insights from the movie. From remembering their shooting days to discussions on preparations for their complex roles and the experience of being a part of an epic political story, they spoke about it all. Sharing his views about the movie with RJ Anant and Saurav, Ranbir said, "Raajneeti is not a typical political film. It is more of the fictional version of the Mahabharta, narrated by Prakash ji". Elaborating on his character Ranbir added "My character portrays a young boy studying abroad, who comes back to India to meet his parents, gets stuck in the world of politics and changes the rules of the game".
Expressing her excitement of being associated with the movie Katrina added "I am just happy about getting an opportunity to work with such great actors. My role in the movie is of a normal girl, who has just finished her studies and is unaware of what is going to come next. I would like to add that it is an earth shattering special film and will change
your lives if you come and see it". Keeping in flow with his 'lover boy' image, Ranbir's natural choice for his favourite track from the film is 'Bheegi si, bhagi si' which is a mushy romantic number composed by the number one music composer of today's time – Pritam. Katrina on the other hand prefers the already popular, slow and soulful number 'More piya' which is being touted as one of the best compositions of Aadesh Srivastava till date. The light hearted talks continued with the RJ's quizzing the team on various topics including their personal 'Raajneeti' if any, that went on while shooting the movie, to which an honest Arjun promptly replied, "That there was no raajneeti among the actors on the sets. We all had a good time and shared a good rapport with each other. I found a younger brother in Ranbir during the shooting of Raajneeti." The excitement did not end here; four lucky Radio Mirchi listeners from Delhi were overjoyed as they too got a chance to meet their favourite stars in person. An enlightening and fun-filled conversation with the stars, made the winners smile all the while.
After charming the audiences with their outstanding performances in their earlier blockbusters, the star cast of Raajneeti is all set to enthral everyone in their much awaited upcoming movie. Raajneeti with its sterling star cast of Ranbir Kapoor, Ajay Devgn, Katrina Kaif, Arjun Rampal and Manoj Bajpai is slated to release on 4th June 2010.
