Simi always keeps an option exept abhi

At the beginning of the story simi seems to be a calm and quiet girl with simplicity in her life. She had spiritual values like love and affection, tranquility and dedication and generosity.

We can justify the decision wich she has taken to get marry with Rajeev bhalla.Mother always accused her by telling still she is unmarried been a girl of 30. Even her appearance makes her stress. The only burden that her family had was her marriage. We can also justify her disicion to marry RB ever if she understood the reality of RB's life. On that time she hadn't any option which she could take as her brother was threatened by RB.

But still we could love the character of simi as she expected she would meet her soul mate. Always it was in the corner of her heart. She could feel it at the Abhi's first touch at the temple. There was an attractive seen at the Jagrata night. (day before her wedding day with RB) on that day she could feel Abhi's arrival at the occasion. it seems their internal deep emotional love. So all the viewers expected and believed how nicely simi will protect her love when it is come to her...

We hoped, expected and looking forward the happiest moment which simi owns her love. But all our expectations were frustrated by her change after her love arrived to her. Then she becomes a character who always shaken at any occasion. This quality makes her lover (Abhi) disappointed and puts him to troubles. But we can forgive simi for the reason at the first stages of their relationship. She considering at the age gap, their culture, Social conditions and her family response. She couldn't decide whether her parents accept this relationship. But all the time Abhi proved that he is unshaken and unchangeable at any occasion. By understanding it clearly simi doesn't change her attitude by giving an unfair idea to her honesty for the fans.

Some times we do not know the producers wanted to show the difference of the Abhi and simi's age gap. Even though for that reason if they spoiling the qualities of simi's character it's unreasonable for the fans that trusted her love.

1According to my point of view simi always think about her family's safety and happiness. She always hides her emotions and happiness at the presence of her problems. This emphasizes the qualities of the Asian women who think of the family than their selves. I do not have any argue on that. But it doesn't mean we can justify the simi's actions at the presence of Abhi's unconditional love. Though the producers try to show above quality , we can say they were not success in that. We really feel this attempt only spoils the quality of simi's character.

Simi always keep an option on the behalf of her family. Before her marriage with Abhi ,She had two options, Nakul Sindagar and Abhi. We feel simi is dishonest as she didn't refuse nakul's proposal till the last moment. She knew the agreement between Abhi and her father. (Open the shop and request her hand) she really knew Abhi some how complete his duty and coming for asking her hand. But she did not show her father and nakul's dadi or to nakul that she did not like nakul's proposal. same time she accepted Abhi's ring and Nakul's bangle. When the proposal of omi and neethu was proposed , she was engaged to Abhi. Evan at the moment when Dadi ( nakuls' grand mother) asks about the bangle simi lies. It shows always Simi had the question, which I should select for the battement of my family between Abhi and Nakul. It proves at the problem of neethu which Abhi could not solve. So she took the option to select the nakul. It proves that she selects the option if Abhi fails to do something for her family.

It gives the question that is that an action which could be taken by a true lover. On the other hand she was going to do something unfair to Nakul. she doesn't love Nakul but for her family she was going put the lives of two men in to trouble. ( Abhi and Nakul)

(I am not going to talk about cheating Omi here.) Is it an action which could be seen by an unselfish person…?

Main point of my view is that she believed Abhi at the occation of house issue with RB. But it seems she kept the option of RB' proposal (one night spend thing) if Abhi fails to solve. I agree she did nit agree Even RB made them hapless by taking their house. She did not say "yes" when sethi family were on the street. But till the last moment she hoped Abhi will come and save them and their house. If Abhi fails to get the Stay order and if they had to spend one or two days in the street who knows what will simi do…?

Though I do not like to even think about it some time Simi may be Go to the option.

What you just wrote is what I call an ugly truth. At the begining of the show we all loved Simi and rooted for her to get her prince charming! But now the CV's have turned her character into something we feel does not deserve Abhi's love.

What you, Ulakmini, said is right on point. I see Simi's character through an independent woman's eyes and am furious at her decision making skills. I don't think a person should be flip-floping so much. A person, male or female, family or not, should make a decision after much thought and STICK with it!

When Simi took "pheres" at the temple with Abhi she should have committed to him no matter what happens afterwards. She should have said no to Nakul's proposal or at least told her father who understood her situation and was on her side.

And again, like you said she should have just decided against RB's proposal of the one night stand. And after having made that decision she should have told her husband and at least her parents as her decision affected her family.

Wow Ulakmini, how well analysed and well written - you have explained that one horrid trait in Simi's character perfectly. Indeed there is a pattern of her always keeping one option open in case Abhi or her dad or matarani fails her - the ultimate objective being the benefit of her family as she sees it, at any cost.
