On Tuesday evening, TV actress Prachee Shah performed at Parampara, a five-day festival held at the Y B Chauhan auditorium, despite high fever and a severe throat infection. Solo piece
The festival, inaugurated by President Dr A P J Abdul Kalam, was organised by Dr Shoma Ghosh. Prachee's seven musicians and guruji, Ganesh Hiranand, also participated.
Prachee, who married Vishwaas Pandya in December last year, started off with a one-hour solo kathak recital. An audience of over 500 watched Prachee, who was clad in a traditional orange-and-gold kathak outfit, live on stage. Great opportunity
Says Prachee, "I have done even two-hour performances, but this one was special. I got up in the morning with high fever and a bad throat. But I couldn't back out. A committment is a commitment, and dancing is my first love. Besides, one doesn't get a chance to perform classical dance in Mumbai; this was a great opportunity."
The response after the dance was tremendous. Prachee's parents and Vishwaas were also present in the auditorium. "It was a relief and all my apprehensions were proved wrong," she sighs.
TV's Radha
Recently, Prachee has been on a dancing spree. On Monday, she danced to a special classical song for TV serial Saarrthi. "There's a dance with Krishna, and I play Radha. It's a Vrindavan backdrop. It's just a one-day shoot. As it involves dancing, I am definitely going to enjoy every bit of it."
Prachee had also performed at the Great Women Achiever's Awards last weekend. "It was a jugalbandi with Sudha Chandran," she explains.
