Could someone explain the "metaphoric" meaning behind Abhi referring to Simi as a "thief" and Simi's comment about all the "thieves" disappearing😕? Our group here at my home in the US are all ABCDs ;) so none of us could figure out (even with the subtitles) what the meaning was behind all of it😕.
For example, what did Simi steal from Abhi on the SR night? If anything ...wasn't Abhi the the thief who stole/took her (clearing throat)?😳 😆Or are we referring to Abhi's virginity instead?😉 😛 That would be really dorky.
Serious, I said I'd ask so someone can they translate or explain their understanding of the use of the terms or the double meaning.
The best line was Abhi inviting Simi back to bed and Simi walking away in embarassment. I would have prefered more day-dreaming on Simi's part, but the fact that they had add spoonfuls of sugar to the chai was entertaining.

Uth jao, subah ho gayi hai, Sab chor ghar chale gaye hain
This means wake up, its morning. About the thieves going home, it just is a phrase used for telling someone its midday. Thieves dont work in broad daylight. So if thieves have gone home, it means its broad daylight /mid day.So she meant it already bright and sunny outside. Wake up.
I have heard my own neighbour saying about her son.....jab chor kaam pe lagte hain, toh kaam karta hai, aur sota hai jab chor apne ghar chale jaate hain. He used to work for a call centre at night and sleep during the day. thats how i know the meaning.
Abhi saying the dialogue referring her as thief is beacause Simi being the shy person is never going to say things like that to him about losing oneself entirely or her virginity to her husband. So Abhi told instead. The meaning behind it is very well understood. Though man and woman lose their virginity to each other, it is never mentioned. Though it is both ways., Abhi was just ragging her instead.

Lata and Mesimi thankyou both so much for clearing that up. Laila you beat me to it. I was wanting to know the exact thing. I was also wondering what the actual conversation was between simbhi the next morning. Very much appreciated for the translation guys.

OK, MeSimi, we kind of figured out all of that and through trial and error, but what was not clear, is why he referred to her as thief - other than the fact she stole his heart, when he added the term "kaal raat" (night before). Is he using the term to refer to her as stealing his virginity? Cause if that is the case, that's really lame as that is suggesting she stole it from him unless the idea is to suggest she was pretty wild in the sack and was all over him - meaning she was the one who wanted it more than he had anticipated (hence the reason she put the kaala tikha on him). In other words she was not in the least bit shy that night.

Laila,
I rather feel I have no ability to assume and dissect things the way that you do. And if i do so, i personally feel its pretty gross. A husband wife unison is a beautiful phase in every one's life. And it does carry its own sanctity when its done within a marriage.
It is just simple he told her that just for us to get the message that they have consummated their marriage.
A writer's ability in choosing dialogues plays an important role. It also makes a difference whether a male or female is writing it.
Going to the extent of assuming the wildness involved in the act just to satisfy the queries in one's mind based on a simple statement is something i dont wish to do by writing out and dissecting the issue further.

Why is the ability to disect what was being said GROSS? 😕 Yes, it does make a difference who is delievering the dialogue! A big difference because it makes no sense if it is being said by the wrong person. What IF the writers were actually suggesting this about Simi's character? Heck it would give us a whole other side to her and for her being wild in bed does not suggest that she is not a virgin; it actually suggests she wants to be with Abhi more than he realized.
Since the show cannot show many things, the dialogue that is said afterwards (the next morning) is important and when it is a mish mash and nonsensical sure we should question and there is NOTHING gross about it.

Laila:
For the first paragraph: about the thief disappearing its just a casual way to say get up its quiet late in the morning, ( its normally thieves who wakes up in the night and robs homes and in the mornig they go to sleep), so basically what she ment was to get up its morning. We do say this sentences at times.
Also most of the dialogues or words spoken by a husband and wife does not always have a basis for double meaning .
2nd para : Abhi was just pulling her legs and making fun of her . there are so many thing that an husband and wife talk, when they are alone so he just said it casually. (thats what i felt,)
Also play full dialogues between husband and wife provides a bonding between the couple.
Mesimi I totally agree with what u have written and i have not felt any thing wrong in what they said.
But one thing I cant understand is why are people dissecting each and ever small thing thats been shown in the show.
No shows are perfect and ofcourse there will be mistakes and such type can be ignored. and thats what i feel.

Request you to please dont go into much deatils of what they have done or so, as it dosent look so good and also tot he people who are reading this in the forum. it can create a negative impact.
Also what ever is the way it the dialogues delivered I and many of us liked last weeks episdoes and we can ignore many thing.
