Let me just say before i start my discussion that i am a very big fan of Pratigya.

However, this show is really starting to bug me.

I admit they are trying to show feudalism and male dominancy in the serial but why do the women have to get beaten up in every episode?!

There is always in every episode either a woman getting beaten up or someone is talking about getting someone eaten up i.e Kesar - Shaktis Wife...

What do you think? Do you think the creatives are using the violence as a way of driving up TRPs?

Pardon my ignorance but what is TRP? 😳
Well I am guessing the creatives believe showing the notion of domestic violence will make it clear to the masses of the strong patriarchal element in the Thakur's household. Though does seem somewhat cliched!

Yeah true, but after a while the beatings get a repetitive and seem that if they have nothing to show they just beat someone up!

TRPs mean Television Rating Points. The more people that watch a show the higher the TRPs. If shows get below a certain TRP for a certain amount of time, the channel decided to pull the plug on the show.

TRPs are a big thing in the Indian TV Industry. Similar to Ratings as they are known in the western world...
